New Member from Texas Hello from Texas! I am a new member as of January 1. Thank you for the immediate warm welcomes I received from many of you.:) My husband and I were adopted by two rescue yorkies. Doodle Bug was in his 5th foster home at the age of 5, weighing in at 4 lbs 8 oz. before we brought him to his forever home. He had been taken from an abusive situation. Issues? Oh, yes, he had issues, some which will never be resolved. Yet, we love him unconditionally. He immediately attached himself to my husband. If it were up to Doodle Bug, he would have a handle grafted on his back so that he would never have to walk. He will soon turn 14. Then, along came Maggie Marie. One Christmas Eve, a young couple arrived at our house with then 2 year old, 9 lb. Maggie. They had a newborn, and Maggie barked every time the newborn cried. Good-bye, Maggie. She sat by our front door for three days waiting for her owners to retrieve her. Finally, she realized that we were now her family. Ask her today and she would tell you she wouldn't have it any other way. Maggie is now 8 and is my girl. I look forward to reading your posts. Happy New Year! May 2011 bring you good health and happines. |

I so enjoyed your accounting of how your two kids became loving members of your family......I love hearing loving, positive stories such as yours. I hail from Texas (Colleyville; 26 miles NW of Dallas and 26 miles NE of Ft Worth) and I do miss it, but, most of all I love the people. They say everything in Texas is big, but what one really finds out is Texans have big hearts. |
:animal-paThank you. We are in Southeast Texas, Gulf Coast area - Beaumont. We traveled through Kaufman on one of our trips. Think we had gone to Canton Trade Days, then went sight seeing to a state park and to Dallas. |
We are just lucky that these two adopted us. California! You are a long way from home. I am not sure that I know your city. Will have to check a map to see if we have been there. |

Thank you. I have enjoyed seeing all the pups, including yours. |
What a touching story of how you came to have two little lovebugs. Your heart must be as big as the moon. It's wonderful to hear someone didn't turn their back on Maggie Marie. I hear so many stories of people getting pups and then having babies, then out go the yorkies.:( Welcome to YT!:) |
Just given a little time, and I think Maggie would have learned not to bark every time the baby cried. She use to bark every time she heard a doorbell. I put on reruns of 2 1/2 Men for her, and she soon learned not to bark every time she heard a doorbell. Do you have any idea how many times a doorbell rings on that show? lol Anyway, it was our gain and their loss. Love my Maggie and little Doodle Bug, too! |
Welcome. I am so glad your babies found such caring parents. |
