sock/bottle
 
Axel since a small pup always liked the empty plastic water bottle, I would say his favorite toy. So I found one of those cover toy's for water bottes, well didn't last long he chewed thru the material, I sewed it up and he chewed another hole. So I just took one of hubby's nice gold toe! socks and put the empty water bottle in it and tied a knot on the end...Cheap toy for Axel and indistructable. Just thought I would pass along for all those water bottle babies like mine.

We have those water bottle cover toys too. Never thought of socks....and there are plenty of oneis a round here. Good idea. :)

Thanks, sometimes not sure to post or not to post! Maybe everyone had tought of that and I was the last one to think of it! ha ha! Happy New Year! everyone.

Ooooooh, great idea! I'm going to try that today. My boys love the bottle socks. We make grandpa drink the water, and then we steal his socks. :D

Rhett would rather play with this than any toy I can buy. I put a few kibble in the bottle for noise. It's a hoot to watch him pick it up by the end and shake it.

Yes, they are an excellent tag team. With the sock bottles, they get so excited when I put in a new bottle and they work together crunching the same one. They love crunching them until the bottle is flattened. Then they play tug-o-war. I love the faces they make at each other when they are pulling.

When we play fetch, they fetch together, each holding an end of the same toy when they run back together, cheek to cheek. :p

Forgot to add, if your dog likes the "crackling" type toys, take a sock and stuff it with really cheap wrapping tissue paper (the cheaper the better, Wal Mart has one that is rather stiff). Waxed paper works pretty well, too.

Callie loves bottles too and sometimes my mom will give her a 2 liter bottle and she will pounce on it and carry it around but I bought her one of those toys and she didnt like it she wouldnt play with it at all.

Great! Love the ideas, just did the was paper in the sock he absoultly went nuts over this...how funny. Thanks for that idea!

Just a word of warning. Not sure if the plastic water bottle is the same as a pop bottle, but, Darwin used to love playing with a pop bottle until one day I realized he had chewed an inch in diameter jagged chunk right off of it. It was a very scary time and would hate to see anyones pup go through what we did. He is fine now but I won't give him anymore - way too scary!

It sounds like they have tons of fun together. They are so lucky to have one another. I can picture them playing fetch. That would be so cute.:D

Good idea. The onesie's that the babies out grow can work another two ways. Cut the legs off right above the snaps at the crotch to use as a little shirt for the fur-kids, and use the feet for a plastic bottle. :D

Thank goodness Darwin is okay! This is a good warning.

With my aggressive chewers, I would never give them the bottle without the sock covering it. I also have to check "toys" frequently for any damage.

Each dog is different and has different capabilities for making toys dangerous.
