I take mine to my vet's office they have a groomer there also. I take them first thing in the morning and usually they are the first to be done and my groomer usually calls with-in three hours to pick up. It's a little more pricey but I trust everyone there with them and my groomer. So to me me it is well worth the money knowing they are in good hands. It's like leaving your baby for the first time. Although it is always hard at first, it gets better.

She is soo cute! Looks like she did very well first her first time at a groomer. i am having a had time taking my shih tzu the first time too. Even though my Yorkie Suzi does well and I trust the groomer, miely is a different story. Her coat is cotton and matts up as it grows. She looks like a bear, very fluffy. I have been also told not to let my dogs see me when they are being groomed, but it is so hard not to be there for them.

That's what is so cute about yorkies - they are little imps!:D

You should be proud of her. She's very cute. You have about 15 years or so to be proud of her and for her to let you spoil her rotten.;)

i cried my first time too...and then got her and the groomer had cut all her toe nails to the quick :( it made me sooo sad, but then i found an awesome groomer that only takes about a half hour- an hour and calls rite away and i love her and the kids do tooo... it's a lot easier on my poor sensitive soul.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that bawled lol. My mom had to comfort me :p She said that is how she felt the first time I got on the bus to go to school!

Awww poor thing. Rylie's nails are good (thank god), perhaps even slightly longer than I'd like. However, Rylie might not have stayed still for that part (we don't play much with her nails... I'll have to start doing that to get her used to it).

And awwwwwww, I so understand how you feel about leaving your kiddos. I groom at home now, but if/when I have to leave my babies at the vet for something, I think of them every minute, and really can't stand it. It just bothers me for them to be amongst people who aren't their family :(.

So glad to hear she did well, and believe me, there are so many of us who understand what you're saying.

Awww, what a sweetheart Rylie is! I enjoyed reading your posts as I can see your great love for her. I think she's going to have to get used to seeing that camera around a lot. ;) She's a real cutie... you should be proud! :) I'm glad all went well at the groomer - she looks great. :thumbup:

ROFL Funny you should say that... we're waiting to get another little one now actually. My mum wants one of her own because she knows when I move out into my own house after I'm done with grad school that I'm taking Rylie with me! :D Rylie made her fall in love <3 And you all know what THAT means... when I move out I'll need to get a 2nd so Rylie still has a friend! :rolleyes:

Frist of all she looks beautiful! Second of all I think I can help with this. :D

Layla is 3 mo. old and though shes pretty good with the pad she still has a small bladder and can't hold it too long when we go out. So I take a peepee pad with me in her carrier. I go to a restroom or secluded area if I'm shopping and put the pad down and she usually pees right away. If she doesn't I make her go anyway because I taught her how to pee on command.

It is always hard to leave them alone and even more in a stranger's place. Every day when I go to work I tell my Girls that I will be right back and to be good Girls! Even if I leave for 5 minutes when I come back they greet me like if I had been gone for a week.

I understand how you feel, Andy is 2 years old and has never been to the groomers. I have a few reasons why but the main one is I can't leave him there. I have my hairdresser and barber licence sooooooooo I thought why not. I worked a long time ago at a groomer doing the brushouts. With all that I bought the equipment and I do Andy's grooming myself.

I know I'm a great one for advise but each time will get better for you and in the long run if they are a good breeder and treat him well each time will be better for him and separation is suppose to be good ? lol

I wonder how many Mom's are seen peeking in the window at the Groomers hahahaha

I HATE dropping mine off too, but I trust my groomer a lot, she is so great to them and I get them back pretty quickly. She usually has them about 3 hours- which isn't bad for having to do two dogs. I tell her to crate them together if they are both in the crate at the same time. I made sure to inspect her whole facility to make sure I was happy with it and trusted her. Did she think I was a little nuts at first? Maybe. But thats okay, I don't like when places have back rooms you can't see. I want to see everywhere my baby is going to be.

I am also "that mom" when I drop my kids off at the vet for any length of time, I come armed with food, treats, blankets, and toys for them :rolleyes: I always wondered if they thought I was just a tad bit neurotic but I have heard them talking bad about people who don't take care of their dogs, or dont seem to care about their pets, so at least I know they aren't talking about me that way. If the worst someone can say about me is that I am a little overprotective or "crazy" thats A OK with me.

As far as the eye shine, my Chloe has the same thing! :) So annoying for pictures.

LOL Once you have one these little ones it doesn't take much arm twisting to get another :p

That's a good idea! To be honest I don't know if she'll go on the pad without the fake grass underneath it... granted I think she will.

It was easy (sort of). I just put the pee pad in a corner sat at the other end at times I knew she had to go. I just kept tapping the pad and would say "go pee!" until she peed. She would try to escape me but I'd pick her up and put her on the pad / not let her pass me at all. As soon as she pee'd I'd say good girl (make a fuss) and let her run around and finally play. She's only 3 months and can do it so I'm sure any other baby could do it, too!

It didn't take her long to realize that if she wanted to be free to play she had to pee on the pad first. xD Now I say go pee and she usually goes, especially if I insist, because she knows that otherwise she's stuck on the pad and that's no fun! Haha ;)

ROFL that would be really handy for when Rylie starts outside training, but she goes to her pad on her own and does her thing by herself. I used to insist "go potty" at night (back when she couldn't last the night), but now she just does her own thing. However, we did have an accident today on the throw rug in the bathroom because mommy had to go pee and OF COURSE Rylie had to come with... away from her pee pad :rolleyes:

I feel for you.Its just like sending off your child to pre-school.Hopefully the grooming session was only 2 hours and she will be ba ck in her Mommy's arms in no time. Please keep us posted.

Her grooming appointment was on Wednesday. She was out pretty quick and came out looking pretty! See the updates further along in the thread. :D Thanks for the sympathies though!

She pottys at home fine with out guidance anymore thank God :D but I meant that this is particularly useful when we are going to go out and I know it will be for a few hours. So I can have an idea of when to put her down to pee when im at a store etc. :cool:

She is so cute with her new look. Really is something the way they like to pose after the new cut. Really like the bow, too.
Marcie's groomer only does Yorkies. I am lucky to have her. I expected Marcie to be as nervous as I was for the first visit, but she ran up to the groomer and gave her sweet kisses.
