New Member Hello everyone! I rec'd my baby about 2 weeks ago. He is a joy. Born 9/30/2010. I have wanted a yorkie for 5+ years but had to wait for my kids to get a little older so the little fella would not get hurt. Right off the bat I have noticed that potty training is going to be a challenge. I can use all the advice I can get on everything from grooming, to bedding, to collars to training. Please feel free to email me. Glad to have found this forum. Oh, by the way his name is Max and I am Beth. |
Welcome to YT, Beth. :) Congratulations on the new addition to your family. I love the name Max. You will find loads of information in each forum here. Check out the "sticky" posts at the top of each section and look in the YT Library. Feel free to post threads to ask specific questions. Enjoy your puppy and post pictures. Everyone loves pictures. |
Welcome to YorkieTalk!! I'm sure you can find your answers here either by looking at the library, searching old posts, or just type a question and ask! Glad to have you!! |
Forgot to add a very important safety reminder: collars are only for ID tags. Never hook a leash to a collar on a Yorkie. Always use a harness for the leash. Yorkies are at risk for collapsed trachea and should never have pressure applied to their delicate necks. |
Welcome and congratulations. I would just be consistent with the potty training and diligent. It's a good idea to get them use to being brushed early on too. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk Max and Beth!! |

Welcome Max and Beth. You'll find lots of useful information here. Glad you found us. |
Welcome to you both! Please feel free to do research on the forum. Everything has been covered at one time or another and there is plenty of help if you have specific questions. Use only a harness to walk your yorkie on a leash. Never use a collar for walking. |
