My Yorkie Caleb -- can u help me? :p:)Hi, I'm new here on YorkieTalk an love my Caleb whom I adopted from a shelter 4 years ago. He will be 6 in March and is so loyal and what a joy for me. He's a larger Yorkie, 15 lbs and a blonde silky. Last winter I noticed "blackheads" on his back and took him to my vet who gave me shampoos, shots, antibiotics, etc. Had blood work on him as well and all tests came out "normal". However, the blackheads have multiplied up his spine and now seem to be appearing on his head! I have tried everything I know to "clear up" the blackheads and am now afraid my vet doesn't know what he's talking about. Has anyone here in this group heard of such a perplexing skin ailment? Thanks, cmill |
Hello and welcome to YT! :) I'm sorry that you are having problems with your little one Caleb's skin. My suggestion would be to seek visit a dermatologist who would be better able to diagnose his skin issues. Somethings a issues are outside the scope of our regular vet. :xmastree1:Merry Christmas :xmastree1: Jodi, Pebbles, Bogey and Doodlebug |
Hello and Welcome to YorkieTalk. I totally agree with Megansmomma about the Vet Dermatologist. I had a similiar thing happen to Piccolo about 3 years ago and it turned out to be something my regular vet could not diagnosis. (It ended up that she had Cutaneous Vasculitis and it did show up as black dots along her spine, along with other symptoms.) Whatever your pup has, the Vet Dermatologist can do skin scrapings and skin biopsies and get a pretty quick diagnosis. Hope you find out something quickly and please give us an update. |
