I noticed that my Lexie's face doesn't look like the majority of yorkie pups i see on here. Her face is not fluffy at all, in fact she doesn't have much fur on her head at all and her face looks very skinny.

did anyone else's yorkie look like that as a pup? i hope she's pure breed

She's beautiful! :D

Most Yorkie babies look just like her; the majority of pics you see in peoples' avatars are of older pups than yours I believe.

Welcome! She is so sweet, love her face. I think she looks great and is what most look like. Such a doll baby. That picture on her side is so darling.

My girl is a cotton coat, so I can't really say...she was a massive furball and still is, LOL.

aww she is adorable! i noticed my Lexi doesn't have a full head of hair on the top of her head either. must be normal. :)

Your pup looks adorable! Silky coats usually start with pup having thin hair on the top of the head. Some worry they see scalp, some say the roots are silver, or just that it is too thin. That is a good sign -- will probably result in a nice silky coat. :) Wait til the 5-7 months stage -- very unruly hair and often look unkempt and not the yorkie-look we are waiting for. :D I used to have those "awkward days" pics in my avatar. I kept them there for a long time, and used them as an example that yorkies do go through some big changes along the way to becoming the most beautiful dog in the world.

wow im so glad you posted that. Lexi has then hair with silver roots. oh i hope she has a silky coat like you said! :)

She's adorable...and you love her...that's what counts the most, right?
My poor Zoe is going bald!:eek: Talk about an awkward stage! The vet is perplexed and we will see a dermatologist after Christmas. In the meantime, I'm knitting sweaters to cover the...um...situation. :(
I don't think I've seen a yorkie yet that's not adorable.

What a cutie! Tallulah looked like she was balding on the top in her first few pics, too. Now she's my little ball of fluff. Except when she gets a bath, in which case she is my little alien rat-like critter who would vaporize me if she could.

But I digress. I think Lexie is gorgeous!

LOL This is awesome. We say the same thing about Rylie when she gets a bath. We call her our "hideous little drowned rat" :love:

Your pup has more hair then my Chloe did at that age. I was worried for a while because she looked different then a lot of other Yorkie I've seen. She didn't have a fuzzy face. Chloe has a really slow growing hair, it is about 1 inches long on her back now after I trimmed off an 2" of black puppy hair. That was her only hair cut and she is 9 .5 months old. But I have to say it is going to be worth the wait because it is growing into a gorgeous silky coat that is going to be stunning one day.

ty and everyone else for putting my mind at ease. This is exactly how her hair looks (very thin on her head and now turning silver at the roots on top). I love how gorgeous silky coats are and can't wait now to see how she'll look once it comes in! Btw the coat on your little one looks so shiny and healthy, such a cutie:)

wow your Chloe has the same "skinny face" as my Lexie, and you're right it's not that fluffball "teddybear" look that other pups typically have. But the coat on Chloe is so beautiful, love the color. definitely something to look forward to:p

Bentley is also very skinny & has very thin hair (you can look at my album)... I was worried about his hair also but I guess they grow into it.. I hope he gets really fluffed up lol
