Dry skin Hi. At first i thought my little Mindy had dry, cotton like coat and she just needed a good conditioner. Today while giving her daily grooming I noticed that she has tiny white flakes coming from her skin. What would be the best product to treat this problem for both her skin and coat? I'm also interested in any home remedies. |
What is she eating? You may need to add a fish oil to her diet. |
Try some Espree Luxury Remoisturizer after each shampoo. It works great. Oatmeal shampoos can help with dry, flaky and itchy skin too. I also agree with previous suggestion to add some fish oil and I also think coconut oil/chips will help. Fatty acids is what you are looking for! |
dry skin and coat I have her on Solid Gold made with fresh Bison and I give her one pump of salmon oil every other day. |
Thanks everyone. I'm going to try the mosturizer! |

YES! She scratches a lot behind her ears. Particularly the right one and she bites her paws also. |
Duke, too scratches behind his ears and licks his paws. I read on here that the paw thing could be that he has things stuck on the hair on his paws but I checked and checked again, nothing. Duke eats Wellness dry food. His vet did give us medicated shampoo for his spotty flaky skin but the scratching and paw licking i can't stop either. Seeing that the original post is from NY, I wonder if it's a weather thing. It has been very cold lately. |
Taycie had this problem as well. Ladyjane recommended this to me:) Omega-Caps - For CATS & SMALL Dogs (60 Softgel Capsules) I am almost through with my first bottle and I am really impressed with the results. Her coat dosen't flake anymore and has alot more shine to it as well. It does also contain Vitamin E as well:) And for the price you can't beat it, I will definently be ordering these again. I also bought the Espree Luxary Remoisturizer and am very happy with it. It makes her coat sooooooooo soft. I also bought their silky show shampoo and I like it alot! |
