I am new to this site and I am in search of a yorkie I have a wonderful home to give love care & support I want to make him/her part of my great family I have been searching the sites in NC and to no avail I havent found a puppy/dog yet I have found some but the prices were a little too much for me but I am able to care for the puppy/dog I almost got scammed but I had a feeling something was not right so I did not go through with it

Welcome to YT. I hope you find a puppy, but do your research on the care and health requirements of a yorkie first. You'll be happier in the long run for having done the research first, instead of last.:)

Have you tried looking anywhere besides the internet? If the price of the pup scares you wait until you see the cost of vet bills, grooming, food, toys, accessories, it all adds up and WOW did I say vet bills? Worry more about the breeder you get your pup from, the health and temperament of the pup etc than the price...also watch your sales contract...
Honestly have you tried the pounds? They often have older purebreds (mixes too) there whom would be a great starter dog for someone and any health issue would potentially be known after a certain age-not that things don't develop. I actually felt the same way looking for my Yorkie-prices in CA seem to be a bit up there comparatively-I kept thinking wow spending thousands just to get the dog and then I have to get everything for them and pay for their care-the less I spend purchasing my dog the more I can spend on my dog! I found what I was looking for (after 5 years) online cheaper than I could have gotten here too, he arrived from across the country...even with shipping etc he was cheaper-huh I should have paid the several hundred more to a semi-local breeder I've spent far beyond that in medical care since...

Finding a good breeder is very tricky. I can tell you from expeerience. You say you almost got scammed. Well I did and it cost me $3700 and I never got a dog. It was an overseas scam so I was if you'll excuse the expression SCREWED. I ended up getting Zach from a pet store. He was $750. He had papers and a health guaratee. Although YT doesn't believe in getting dogs from a pet store because the pet stores support puppy mills . I was really lucky with Zach so far. I couldn't find a breeder near to where I live and after going through a scam I didn't want to have a puppy shipped to me so I took a chance. No matter what you do you have to be careful.
