what to do?? Axl is my 2 1/2 year old male Yorkie he is my big boy who weight is 11 pounds. He is shaking like a puppy with low sugar will do. I just gave him nutracal hoping this works to help him out. He has never had episodes like this before, hes very healthy and eats good for us. I am looking at information on shaking and can't find much information. What could be causing him to shake like this? |
Could he be nervous about something? Max does this when he's nervous or scared. |
I would take him to a vet, i have never had one to do this sorry not much help here |
How long has this been going on? Has the vet any idea about this? Does he shake after he eats? He could be nervous as another poster said. How about cold? |
Just to add to my previous post, when Max does this, I hold him closely, wrapped in a blanket and it subsides. Try this. If it doesn't stop then it could mean something else. |
Anytime there is a sudden and unusual change in behavior, you should go to the vet. Has he been eating and pottying normally? |
If this continues, I would take him to a vet. Try to warm him up first...he may just be chilled. |
He was not cold my house is rather warm. He has never had a shaking incident before, but I have had my girl Yumi Yasha do this and its because of hypoglycemia I keep nutracal in the fridge for her just in case. Axl did much better and stopped the shaking once he got nutracal. If he does it again I am calling his vet.He got a great check up in September when he had a check up this year. |
I have never had an adult yorkie that was healthy become hypoglycemic. Matter of fact I have only had two that did and they were elderly and sick. I have had many yorkies in my home over the years. Yes, I agree, if it happens again, he should be seen by your vet. Good luck! :) |
