lexi ate the wall i came home friday evening and the hallway wall was chewed up. i mean not even the corner... by the flat end... how the heck did she do that? and why? she took the sheet rock off and ripped it and spit it out... i put clear deoderant on it , hopefully it will work... we will see. |
Thats all you can do. My dogs ate the tile flooring off my floor and I dont know how they did that either. They find their ways!!!!! |
Was Lexi a little P.O.'d at mommy ???? when they are pissed there is no stopping them from what they can tear up...Just be happy it wasn't a wall holding up your house ! |
my pups have eaten the wall too in several places on the flat part...go figure  I'd love to actually see how they get that started!! they are going on eight months now and my husband just fixed the wall so hopefully those wall chewing days are over! :) |
Sango ate through her puppy gate! And she's tried to eat the wall also! I understand the frustration. |
i figured that she might of been hungry,,, so i left her more food than usual this morning....i wish i can give her the run of the house , but after this, no way jose... |
When we first got Meeju (miniature schnauzer) we put her in our bathroom with a baby gate on the door and kept her there during the day when we were at work. One day she did the same thing to our bathroom wall on the flat part as well as chewed some of the moulding, in fact she knocked down the garbage can and shredded/chewed anything and everything that was in there. She was upset that we locked her in there with the door closed. We moved her down to the kitchen after that. |
boy these little ones, they sure keep you going huh? they never let you rest. |
They can get away with stuff like that, because we love them so much :D Hope the extra food works! :D |
Rebel has done that to one of my columns. Makes me SO mad! Little terd! |
Zach :aimeeyork has eaten the wall several times where I used a plaster texture and painted. I just kept repainting it and finally he lost interest. Of course, he moved onto another ornery activity!!!!! Beth :) Madison :aimeeyork and Zach :aimeeyork |
You know.. Maggie was never a "chewer", except an occasional flip flop here and there if she was bored. But about 2 weeks ago (she's 11 months, by the way), she chewed the crap out of my full length mini blinds that are next to the front door. I think she was ticked that I left her... but i actually gave her run of the house, so i figured she be a little less mad. Needless to say, she gets gated in the kitchen again. (OH- and she likes to climb/jump the baby gate plus all the things i put in front of it so she cant get out...little escape artist) |
My Boy Mickey use to chew stuff up when I would leave him too. |
I have heard of chewing up shoes, but chewing walls!!! Oh my, maybe I need to spray the walls with vinegar? HA HA. That is so bizarre, and so many wall chewers, there are so many mysteries....... |
i already put clear deoderant on the wall where she started eating, but that smell fades away,.. came home yesterday again and she continued to eat away at the way., just alittle cause i blocked it. |
Well, they don't like being left. Maybe that's what did it, or did you scold her for something? Dennis just got scolded for peeing on the floor, so he did it 3 more times then hid. Ya just have to love them! Sue |
ate molding I left the other evening and my husband was with the furbabies. I have the 7 month old Westie, Duffy, and the 4 month old Yorkie, Jasmine. Everytime my husband is supposed to be watching them, things happen. I think he goes to sleep in the chair watching TV and those 2 know they have the run of the house and I never know what I'm going to come home too. At the least they will have a paper shredded all over the family room. The little stinkers seem to know that I watch them and they can't get by with all that mischief, but when daddy is in charge and asleep they really take advantage of the situation. Anyway, the other night when I came home, I noticed little slivers of wood all over the floor and started looking around. They had ruined the wood molding on the doorway leading into the familyroom from the hall. They tore it up where it came together at the corner, so that means 2 pieces of molding will have to be replaced. I think she started it, as I saw her chewing there a couple of days earlier and scolded her, but I think he finished the job because I don't think as little as she is she could have done that much damage. |
OMG!!! Mine did the same thing!!!!!!! I guess it is a Yorkie thing to chew through paint & drywall!!! You are right, they get away with it because we love them so much!!!!!! |
That's terrible! I never heard of such a thing! I caught Lucky chewing part of our woodwork along the bottom of the walls when we first got her, but a little Bitter Apple stopped that pretty quickly. I don't think that she has done anything remotely destructive since, unless you count the time she ate a few Scrabble pieces. I guess she wanted to play too! :D |
Stomper did this too. The vet said it is because they are teething and can do it up to 12 months old! It must feel good or something. I question this...I think Stomper did it just to be a brat! Hahaha!!! :D |
This is making me feel a little better. Shelby started eating the fireplace bricks yesterday. What is up with that? |
