Thank You, Mystery Santa!! 1 Attachment(s) I've been off my computer for a couple of days. Imagine my surprise when I find an e-mail that says, in part...; "You have been gifted with a YorkieTalk Donating Member status from a YorkieTalk member and you now have the full benefits of all YorkieTalk Donating Members (ones that have donated $25 or more to YorkieTalk, which is what you have been gifted with)!" I'm really at a loss to express just how this made me feel. I've never been much of a 'joiner' of any type, but somehow have always felt at home here on YT, but this....WOW....just too much! The gift is awesome in itself, but the thought behind it just leaves me speechless. It gives me a case of the warm fuzzies throughout and I can only say, "THANK YOU VERY MUCH'!!!!! The only thing I can think to do in response, since it is a 'mystery gift', is to pay it forward. I'll be making a donation to our local Humane Society (HSSM) so that this gift may in turn benefit the animals. I donate to them anyway, but they have been especially nice to me lately in spaying the cats that I've 'inherited' as of late. They are treating them as feral and are doing the spays for free. This avoids the cats being turned in to the shelter which would be a death sentence for them. I don't mind keeping them around and feeding them, but we had to put a stop to the kitty production line. I don't have a completely accurate count but have counted up to 22 at one time. We still have some girls to get spayed and then it's on to getting the boys neutered. Here's a picture of 'some' of my kitty brood. They really are sweet and most are tame. Some I've even been able to bring inside on the cold nights and we've set up boxes with heating pads in them for the others. Hey, anybody want a cat?? Again, from the bottom of my heart, Thank You, Mystery Santa :)!! |

That's so cool, you've "contributed" to this forum for a long time now! I'm glad it "officially authorized" to call you a contributing member! We have so many wonderful generous members. Don't forget you get a bigger avatar now that you a contributing member. If you need any help with that, just let me know. |
Wow! That's a beautiful group of cats... if I lived closer....:D |
Congratulations! You deserve it.:) |
Mary, paying it forward is the least I could do. Quote:

The cats have been a bit of a challenge.....especially to our cat. She feels overwhelmed and is pretty intolerant of them...except for the kittens. So she gets a little extra spoiling to make sure she knows she's special. In some ways, it's a match made in hell, but somehow we make it work. The cats stay out front and the Yorkies are in the house or out back. The one benefit is that my dogs get plenty of exercise. They love to run the fence barking at them and the cats love ignoring them. And it's nice to see these babies that were only semi-tame make such a change. All it took was a full belly and a little attention. Quote:

My local shelter has been wonderful but they aren't no kill. That's why I have all the cats. Sometimes I think I'm operating a satellite shelter :D, but it's all good. Hey, the cat offer is good in Canada, too :). A huge HO-HO-HO to you and your family, Gail.....Merry Christmas!! |
[QUOTE=Woogie Man;3362349] Oh, I can change it.....make the picture bigger....but nobody pimps an avatar like Nancy! QUOTE] You're right, no one pimps an Avatar like Nancy. She talked me into changing mine and then did it for me, then walked me through up loading it...... Everytime I post something, I take a 2nd look; thinking it's a new member. I was very use to my old one, I like this one better though. |
