what type of yorkie is my puppy? 1 Attachment(s) I am very confused if my puppy is in fact a Biewer yorkie, a tri color or a parti yorkie. I am first time dog owner so everything is very new and I a been doing tons of research trying to find out on what exact type of yorkie breed my dog is. Hoping the yorkie experts could tell me. No, I do not know who the mother and father is. I know that is a big no no, but there is a long story behind that. |
I can't help with what type of yorkie your pup is , but I can tell you he is adorable. Congratulations on your new addition. |
WOW, what a cutie! He looks more Biewer to me, than parti...but I'm no expert there...just my 2 cents. Did you get him in Thailand? |
Can't help..........but he surely is gorgeous! Congrats!:D |
yes, I live in Thailand and got him here, hence the confusion on his breed. Lets just say breeding farms here operate different than in Europe or the US. Mostly dogs are bought in stores and they said he was a yorkie/s**tzu but as I did my research I could clearly see he was not. |
Thank you all. I am full of joy, I have had him a week. Already potty trained, does not cry at night even thought he sleeps in his den. So well behaved. Just so much love. |
Doesn't he have a pedigree? Doesn't the breeder know? Is he AKC? If he were crossed with a Biewer then he would not be AKC registered and the breeder would know. So my guess he is a parti colored yorkie, but not mixed with Biewer. The parti/Biewer thing is pretty complicated. All Biewers are parti colored, but not all parti colored yorkies are Biewers. Its sort of like all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares. there is an additional requirement for Biewers. The word parti refers to color pattern. |
He sure is cute |
I don't know what he is, but he's adorable! |
I don't know either, but absolutely beautiful! |
He is just adorable! |
Just a cutie pie! |
I don't know either. He is so darn cute!!! |
Without any information on the parents/pedigree, there is no way to determine for certain if he is a Biewer vs Parti, or even if he is full Yorkie for that matter. (Just because he may "look" just like one doesn't mean it's so.) Regardless, he's certainly a cutie! :) |
Wow, he's cute...My first thought was parti, but Wylie's mom said she didn't think so, and she knows more than me, for sure!!! lololol... |

I think he is adorable. Does anyone else think this pic is a little odd though? Like it was photoshopped. Like a yorkie head on a s**tz zu body? Dh and I thought it is a little odd looking, but maybe the way the pup is turned. |

He is adorable. But I would go with what the pet store said. If they say he is a mixed breed, than most likely that's what he is. Mixes can look like either the dam or the sire, or something in between. Looks alone aren't going to tell you for sure. |

awww~ I think he's ADORABLE!!! I totally agree with the OP! I've been to Taiwan and dogs are sold mostly (if not all) in pet stores. That's where you would get dogs if you wanted a dog. Almost every pet store carried puppies, mostly maltese puppies. It really made me sad seeing these puppies in cages. They didn't have attention or love. Sometimes, they even stepped in their own poop! I'm sharing this so people can understand that in Asia, getting a dog is quite different from the US. |
I don't know, but the puppy is very cute.:p |
1 Attachment(s) True, he does look like some one stuck a yorkie head on a shi tzu body then a yorkie tail. He is a funny one. That is why I been doing so much research on his mix. I am glad people who have been to Asia know how heartbreaking animal treatment can be here, it breaks my heart. The shop I got my Dex Has Shi Tzus and yorkies running around. There is no KC registration channels, it is all run out of pet shops.:thumbdown Anyway, thank you for all the responses. Will post more pics:aimeeyork |
Just had to say that he is ridiculously adorable!!!!!!!! Looks like a Beiwer to me, but I know next to nothing. Whatever he is, he is perfect...sounds like you are in love!! Congrats! |
