AAAAAAhahahahahaha OMG I walked into the bedroom to find my yorkie standing on the edge of the bed SHAKING. She was quietly barking at the t.v. She looked at me with big eyes and looked back at the tv and "woofed". It was the holiday ASPCA commercial. I calmed her down but she sure didnt like it. I couldnt stop laughing...I thought it was so cool that she understood. She's also afraid of Oompa-Loompas and monkeys. She cracks me up!!! |
To have seen that is worth a million!:D I just get a kick out of watching them watch tv.:D |
That is so cute. Makes you want to cry. Bless her heart. They know maor than we will ever know. Merry Christmas to you and your family |
sounds cute. :) |
I told her "girl, dont you ever pee on the floor again or else" :D haha just kidding. Hubby and I are gonna try to record it if it happens again. It was priceless. |

I'm afraid of oomph loompas and monkeys too. And clowns. Don't blame the dog a bit! |
Wow I thought I was the only one who was afraid of oompa-loompas. Those suckers are scary. When i discovered my dog was afraid of them too, I knew it was fate that brought us together. Its good to know that there are others who have oompa loompa fobias. |
That's funny. Marcel does not like people with white hair on TV - he just barks and barks. Like, when John McCain was on all the time...I'd have to turn the channel bc Marcel would go nuts. Guess he's a democrat...? |
Bridget only barks when Greta barks - the other day they were frantically barking in the family room - I went in to find them watching the commercial for "Bark Off"....I guess they didn't approve! |

My six year old son just discovered the Wizard of Oz for the first time tonight too, we had to call Dad who works nights to let him know all about it. Elvis (my Yorkie) was hanging out with him...not sure if maybe Elvis too was freaking out on the Oompas and Monkeys or the lightning and thunder we are having here, but at some point Elvis was protecting us from something... |

Rhett goes nuts when he sees another dog on tv (so much for watching Animal Planet). But the funniest was when we were watching a PBS special and they showed a wolf. Rhett barked and barked at it until they showed a scene where the wolf turned full on to face the camera. Rhett looked at it and ran away. :) |

Clowns have always been just "wrong" to me too. My youngest son was always afraid of them. We made him go up and get his own balloon animal from the clown at a craft show -- he came back, pale & shaking! I had not realized just how scared he was of the clown or how much he must have wanted that balloon animal. After that -- we got the balloon for him. I missed the oompa loompas but one look tells me they would have scared me to -- either color version! Why do we scare kids like this? Love the OP's story about her yorkie shaking & barking at the ASPCA ad. I think she is saying -- "Mom, help those poor dogs!" |
Lane will growl at the TV if we've paused it on a head shot of someone who appears to be looking at the room (hope that makes sense). It usually takes her awhile to notice, but she'll kind of pop her head up and start with a slow growl under her breath from the sofa, and I guess when the face doesn't cower in fear of her viciousness she runs up to the TV growling and barking full force :p |
That is so funny! I hope you are able to record it next time... Khloe barks at any animal on the tv... She thinks they are in her house and she's not fond of them. Several times, she's gone behind the tv barking trying to get to them. |

TV Watching My cavalier regularly watches TV. He HATES anything that is not "right"...all arguing, fighting, even seems to pick up on major injustices. Also really gets upset over things that aren't normal...like people upside down, talking mops...that kind of thing. He also goes nuts over horses and african americans. (We are very embarassed about this...clearly we need to seek out more diversity in our visiting friends :( The two commercials he goes balistic over are the one where the gerbils dressed in sweatshirts drive that boxy car, and the one with the hot black guy riding a horse backwards on the beach. :panic: |
Too funny.......I have the Oompa Lumpa jingle for my txt messages on my BB. Everyone always loves it. Once while at a wedding shower my phone went off and everyone wanted it sent to them. LoL |
I had a poodle that hated the Aflac duck. She also hated Saddam Hussein. This was around the time that we found Saddam Hussein in the worm hole. Every time it came on she went crazy. There was also a commercial that had a dog walk through at the very end. As soon as she heard the music at the beginning of the commercial she would run to the TV and start barking. We didn't get to watch much Animal Planet either. |

Ok my babies bark and growl at the tv when it is OFF!!! They see themselves in the screen. Haha I put a little santa shelf sitter in front of the tv on the table and all of a sudden Wally starts growling and being all scared. They are too much. I love coming to the rescue!:D |

I totally agree, I have no "incident" to relate my unrealistic fear to but I'm sorry, clowns just weird me out and I think they are all around creepy...no one smiles that much without trying to hide something, let alone someone who has to paints one on (j/k but they are seriously creepy)...:confuse2: Anyone else watch HGTV and have their dogs freak out on the door bell on there every time the show changes? |
hehe I don't know what oompa loompa is...had to google it...and it's a creepy looking man. HA! No wonder she's scared!! She sounds so CUTE!! My dogs only respond to barking when they hear door bells in movies/dramas. |
