Greenies at Walmart?? I seen some kind of things that are exactly like *greenies* at Walmart. But they weren't the brand "Greenies" but they had the same ingredients, look, and shape and all. Anyone know if these are any good? are they not any good? Anyone tried them? did you like/dislike them? Them being at Walmart is a HUGE convenience as our nearest Petco is 26 miles away and Walmart is just 2 miles down the road! Just wondering if anyone has tried them and if they are okay or just as good as the real Greenies. |
Hmmm I'm not sure. I didn't know WalMart had them. I know you can order them from PetCo on line if that helps. :) |
They are probably, boot leg greenies...Made by Wal*Mart because the maker of Greenies wouldn't contract them to be a seller. I notice Wal*Mart, boot leg a lot of product's when they can't get the manufacturer(ms) to let them sell the product at their store's. |
I saw those yeserday, when I was there, and wondered... did you buy them? |
Well, I meant to add its not the *walmart brand*, its a different brand but they look exactly like Greenies and have the same ingrediants and all... ANd no, I didnt get any cause I wnated to see if they were any good first. lol |
I'm not sure about the ones at Walmart but I have found a few websites that sell them for the about the same or less than pet stores. |
I Bought Some Friday. My Babies Loved Them. They Really Are Just Like The Greenies.. They Are Like Friendlies Or Something Like That.. 4-5$ For Like 6 Or So... I Believe. I Will Buy Them Again. Rather Than Drive To Get Them For Sure. Won't Hurt To Try One. If They Like Them And Your Pleased. Then You Save A Trip To Petco. :) |
I wanted to let you all know that I bought A nylabone and it had one of those walmart greenies in it as a free sample with the purchase. Toby loved it! He acted the same way he does when he gets a greenie, excited, so I figure it is the same thing. He was HAPPY to get it!!! ;) ;) ;) |
You guys are lucky! I bought a nice big bag of them, and Miss Snoodles turned her nose up at them. I had to give them away, and they weren't really cheap either. I tried the other ones at Pet Smart too, but she will turn her princess nose up at them too. So, I guess it's the Greenies for her! However, she is so small that I cut up the small petites and she only has one at night, so a big bag lasts a long time. I can only get them at PetSmart---85 miles away --also her food __Royal Canin_ So, I really stock up when I go. Hope I have enough to last the winter. I won't go that far just for dog stuff in the winter. The roads are just too dangerous. Pat |
So, then they're cheaper than Greenies? |
Glad to know that the others are kinda as good. I can't wait to buy them for my girlies! |

That's what I use for mine are the bits. Mine love them. |
As you probably know, Greenies are available in a teeny size now. We bought a large box from Dr. Smith and Foster. These are not daily treats for Edie, though. Maybe once a week. Can you imagine paying $5 each for the jumbo ones????? |
I bought a bag of the teenies at Petco earlier in the week. They were on special with my Petco card...$7.99 for 12. I thought this was a real bargain. Jeter loves them. He stays occupied for over an hour chowing down. They come in handy when he gets bored at my sons hockey games. |
We got the 120 pack from Dr. Smith and Foster for $39.99. That will last for a couple of years. Of course, we paid shipping too, so it might not have been that great a deal. Seems ridiculous to spend $40 on dog treats in 1 purchase, but we don't do it every day. |

What did it say on the news that was so bad about them? Gosh one never knows what to do sometimes. Pat |
Heres a news story on greenies that you guys might ought to read and watch. Greenies |
Oh that scares the heck out of me! Now what do I do? She bugs us every night for her Greenie treat! She does chew them uop, but now I am scared. If they are not digestible do they stay in the intestine or are they passed in the stool? I coulldn't get the sound from the video, so not sure if they said anything different from the article or not. Thanks for the info. Pat |
I saw those bo bo brand greenies today at petsmart...fyi. They were way sheaper than greenies |
Thanks so much for that warning information, I'm going to stop giving mine anymore, last week one vomited almost a whole piece, maybe that was a warning sign to stop them also. Even tho mine does beg for them after meals, she's going to have to get some other treat from now on. Its not worth taking chances with their lives to loose them to some greenies.... |
