We rescued a little yorkie, his name is Ian. Prince is smiling down on us.
 

My hubby and I got another baby on Dec. 2nd. He is a year and a half, and is so adorable. He weighs 7.8lbs, has perfect teeth, is very active and healthy.
We knew that we needed to have a furbaby in our home because without Prince, it was so empty. We needed a way to laugh again so I started looking at different rescue sites. We decided to rescue because we didn't want a furbaby to be without a family to love him. We saw two before adopting Ian, but decided that they weren't a good fit for us, but I am happy to say that they were adopted by good families. (One of them was 18 lbs., the other had neurological concerns.)
It seems as though Prince told his little brother Ian all about us, and what to do and not do. His manner reminds us soooooooo much of Prince.
It hasn't been two weeks yet, and it is as if we had Ian since birth.

:) Thank you!! Yes, Ian is like a miracle pill! We are going to Connecticut next week to spend Christmas with our son, and Ian will be going also. It will be his first flight, so I plan to take lots of pictures. I bought his flight kennel last week, and he loves it...I've been pulling him around the house in it. Too cute how he just sits there. A couple of times he jumped in by himself and just looked at me, as if to say "Come on Mommy, I'm ready!!"

Congrats! I've a special affinity for the "big" little guys! Unfortunately they are much more likely to be found in shelters...so happy he has such a wonderful forever home now.

Oh! Congratulations on rescuing your little Ian:). I know just how you feel. We felt the same way, as if there was a hole in our hearts, after we lost our "Baby" until later we found our little "Sophie" to help fill it. I'm sure Prince approves wholeheartedly ;). I am anxious to see photos of your Ian. What a very merry Christmas for you both :D!

That's wonderful. :) No one can replace Prince, but it sounds like Ian has claimed a big space for himself in your heart.

I tell my girls that Abigail would have just loved them as little sisters, I bet that you have said the same thing to Prince about Ian, and BTW, Ian is a great name. I just love happy endings! ;)

i am sooooo glad you found and rescued ian! it was meant to be! after losing our little nika we also felt very strong about ONLY adopting from a shelter or rescue organization. i knew in my heart it was the right thing to do. i looked on petfinder for a couple weeks until i found my new little furry bundle of love and i knew she was the right one, even the lady in charge of heart humane said she was completely meant to be our baby. we traveled 6 hours away from home to get her! i was so surprised to find so many yorkies in need of homes. it broke my heart and i wanted to adopt them all! but of course i know that is not possible. i'm sure nika and prince are very proud that we were able to get these little ones and give them love and care they need. pixie was taken away from a missouri puppy mill with her furmomma and brother when she was only 2 weeks old. we got home with her at midnight and took her to the doc first thing the next morning. she had tapeworm, fleas, coccidia, and kennel cough. i'm sure the humane society was unaware of these problems as they had a full shelter of kitties and doggies. she also did not seem sick. we didn't mind nursing her back to health at all. she is completely healthy now! we just have to keep an eye on her baby teeth. i am truely happy she checked out healthy with our beloved dogtor of many years and very happy ian is a healthy boy too. i'm super excited for you and the family! hope you have a great christmas season with your new little one! congratulations again! :)
