Barking at Her Reflection Usually when I come sit at the computer, Annie comes running, wanting up in my lap. Tonight she is barking in the dining room. On her way in here with me, she saw her reflection. I had forgotten to close the blinds at dark. I usually do this, for insulation, privacy, but mostly so as not to scare Annie. She is acting ferocious and it is cracking me up. Picture a little 2.something pound yorkie sort of jumping at the window and then back again really quick. Sort of brave to a point. I should not laugh because I think she is serious about this. ...... Okay, blinds are closed and she can relax. She is still pacing in the dining room though, knowing that other little yorkie is staring in at her! I don't remember any of the others doing this when they were little. Maybe they did and my memory is going faster than I thought. Do any of your babies stage war with their reflection in the window? She has me laughing about something every day. Usually it is playing with a toy, chasing my feet, licking me awake in the morning but tonight is her big bad-act. |
that's so funny - Greta does it too with either the sliding glass door, or the glass doors on the TV stand. We live in the country and the first time she did that it scared me to death. Gotta love 'em!!! |
He's probably thinking, "What is that little bitty dog doing here?" Dink's funny is that he got freaked out by a stuffed snowman and started barking at it. I let him sniff it, bite the carrot nose, but he really doesn t like it. I see his point. It does have beady little eyes that stare at you!:D |
When Sammy was a baby he used to bark at his reflection in the dishwasher door. I used to ask him, Where's the puppy in the dishwasher? And he would go crazy barking. They do the cutest things! |
Elliott doesn't care if he sees himself in the mirror, but as soon as he sees his reflection in the oven, it's on! :p |
Sandy did that when he's around 9 months old... that's when he started barking. He'd run in front of the full length mirror in our sitting room, played and barked at himself. He could do that for 5 mins. I recorded some videos... and I still smile when I watch them. |
That's too funny! My Roxy was JUST doing that this morning in front of my full length mirror! It's so cute! Sometimes she will lay in front of it while she chews on a toy too. |
Micki does this all the time...reminding me that it is time to pull the shades at night. :) She also is scared to death of her shadow outside...and just last night, she barked for 5 minutes at my rain boots that i brought in from the garage...heehee...:D |
Haha... Annie sounds adorable! Khloe doesn't bark at her reflection, but she does NOT like anything strange that looks like an animal. She will bark at the tv non-stop when I watch Animal Planet. She will also bark at teddy bear and other stuffed animals because she thinks they are a threat :p |
In the shopping mall near my old apartment, the elevators are completely covered inside with gold plated mirrors. Hepburn comes shopping with me all the time, and sometimes, I have the kids I nanny for with me, and we take the elevator because of the stroller. Hepburn always flips out in the elevator because there is not just one reflection, but four and they are all following him! He starts wagging his whole bottom and trying to launch into the mirror to get to the strange dog staring back at him! It is so funny and the kids always get a kick out of it. They even asked to ride the elevator once just to see Hepburn go crazy. |
She is so sweet. Just trying to protect her home. |
Too funny. Copper doesn't bark much, but once in a while he catches his reflection in the sliding glass door. We crack up because we think his bark is cute! |
