It may actually work in your favor that this neighbor has now complained about the neighbors on either side of him. It makes him look kind of whiny and intolerant and the police will tire of hearing from a frequent caller. On the other hand, I know you want to get the barking under control so you no longer have to worry about this kind of thing. |
In Texas...especially Austin, barking is allowed from 6 or7:00am (if forget which) until 10:00pm. After 10pm a dog must be inside if it barks. Your neighbor was arrogant to come over and complain about one little Yorkie barking for a brief moment outside in the morning, when they have just moved in. Its a neighborhood and people have rights within their own space unless you have a strict HOA policy, and if they were out peeking through the fence at that time of the morning...something is not right with that new neighbor. I would confront them and please watch them, because if they are that quick to complain and peek through the fence they may be one of those idiot and cruel people who do not mind feeding your Yorkie through the fence. Not trying to scare you but lately there are too many cruel and arrogant crazy people out there. |
I agree there are some people who may harm your baby if you aren't careful. We had a neighbor like that once who did not like the other neighbors dogs |
Thank you all for your replies. I obsevered Bear for the last five days, thinking that maybe I got used to his barking and did not notice that he is barking a lot. But for the last five days I heard him bark for the first time this evening when the neighbor's dog started barking. And all barking lasted for maybe 30 sec. I feel much better now, knowing that I do not have a problem, that the new neighbor has! Maybe Bear barked a bit longer that morning since he saw something in the backyard ( I don't know, since I wasn't there), but considering that he is not barking at all for days, you would think that a normal neighbor wouldn't complain for that one time. Once again, thank you all ! |
