Butt hair question?? 3 Attachment(s) May be a weird question but... Mabel has two very blond streaks going up either side of her tail area. Very different then anything Darwin ever had - does this give an idea of how her colouring will be when she gets older. She is still very black in the saddle, eyes reflect green and she just turned 7 months old. Any ideas?? |
I don't think that indicates adult color. I may be wrong, but puppies are born black and brown, and I think directly under their tail is also the brown color. I think what you are seeing is the brown grown out. A lot of people keep that area trimmed, so those hairs don't show up with the darker black or silver hairs, but it is hard to tell with your baby's tail down. |
I may be wrong but I think I've heard if their eyes reflect green it is an indication of a silky coat. I am sure someone with a lot more knowledge can clarify that. Either way, Mabel sure is a cutie! Dyan |
I am not sure, but those butt pictures are hilarious! You have some good entries for the best butt contest next year. |

Tia has a blonde streak on each side of her butt also. When my neighbor saw her, she thought Tia had something on her butt! It's so cute, I hate to trim it off when I trim her butt hair. Tia has a black cotton coat with a white streak under her chin and a cute little raccoon mask. She should stay dark though. |
Love the butt photos. That one on the left reminds of the dog Peg in Lady in the Tramp where she is singing Hes a tramp.....and walking away and looks back....really cute. |

2 Attachment(s) Tia is ten months (DOB 1/23/10). I don't know if you can tell in this picture, but Tia (left) has the dark cotton coat, and Ally (right) has a silky coat. Ally's (DOB 12/31/08) coat changed colors, but Tia is not expected to. She hasn't lost that blonde butt streak yet. I think it's so cute too. Pic 1 was taken around the 4th of July. Pic 2 was about a month later. Sorry, I waiting to finish their Christmas outfits to get current photos. |
