Need your help again???? I have a 8 mo old yorkie girl, Sophie, and when we would go on walks she was fine around other dogs, now we have a new one Lucy 4 mos, and now when we all go for a walk and come across another dog, Sophie just goes crazy, dont know what it is, whether she is trying to protect her sister, or is it something else, has anyone else had this problem and what do I do ??????? She is a very strong yorkie and has a mind of her own, and just seems to get out of control. help |
Is she protective of her lil sister at home? That could be what is going on. If she doesn't listen to you, try taking each one by themselves again and see if it still happens. Wish I could be of more help. Maybe someone else will have some better ideas. |
I agree; you are going to have to take her alone to see her reaction. She could be protective of her sister; but she could be just growing up too and feeling her oats as they say. This is something you can work on if it continues. Ringo was horrible when other dogs would approach us while on a walk. I used the distraction and 'watch me' techniques to take his focus off the approaching dog. Victoria Stilwell has some good shows on this. |
Please tell me more about the watch me approach, I have never heard of it. any info would be much appreciated, thanks |
