OMGosh...my sweet Sadie is a..... HUMPER! Really. She has always had a dominant attitude towards her brother but tonight i caught her pinning him down on his back and going at it....she was really humping him. Since then she's tried it several more times. oh dear now what do i do? just tell her NO and push her off of him or what. i've never dealt with this before. HELP :p |
Try redirecting her energy when that happens. Just telling her "no" won't help. Give her something to chew on or play with and distract her. Scarlett hasn't gone after Rhett, but her bed is another matter... |
I've caught Poppy humping her toys twice. I just tell her no and take the toy away, obviously you cant do that with Bentley. So all I can suggest is when she does it tell her NO then try and distract her with a toy or something to take her mind of it. It's really not nice I feel your pain! |
Isn't she just letting him know who is boss? I think this is a show of dominance, and I'd ignore it unless you think that she could be hurting him. She was your first dog, and some trainers believe the first dog should always be the alpha or dominant dog. If she's doing it all the time, I'd try to distract her and get them involved in something else, but I really think this is how dogs play. How does he act, does he roll over? |
It's just a domination thing, so many people think it's dirty, but it's an I'm in charge situation. And Nancy oh my god your avatar is brill |
yes i know it's dominant behavior she's the bitch of the house and she knows it. i don't really have a problem with the mounting part and always let her play that way, but the humping motion because it does offend people i would like to not allow her to keep doing that. mount him all you want just don't wiggle that butt ;) anyways i'll distract her and get her to play instead. he was actually just laying on his back all like WTH? he's sick so he's not into fighting back and playing with her like normal so she took advantage of the situation. :p |
