Update on digestive enzme problem I posted a day ago that my vet diagnosed this from a stool sample. I came home to a diarrhea mess and called vet. He took my dog in for a few days for tests. I insisted he run the blood test for this enzme deficiency. Sure enough, it was negative. He put him on Flagyl and says he is fine now. That is for Guardia. I am picking up my baby tomorrow. He has had Guardia numerous times, or symptoms of it, goes on Flagyl is fine for months then the jam stools. Sometimes it takes two tests to pick up this bug. I have been told by friends with dogs to change the food to a single protein source with no grain. The vet has him on Hills for GI problems. It has corn in it. Anyone out there with a Yorkie with a very sensitive GI track or similar problems??? I finally called the breeder and she gave me a list of natural product to add bacteria to the GI track. I am just happy all of his tests are normal and this looks like a manageable problem. I am asking everyone for help. |
I don't have experience with your particular problem, but Sophia has always had a sensitive tummy. Nutro is the only food that doesn't upset her system. I get it at Petsmart. I even have to be careful with treats. I gave her a new one yesterday and today we have the big D. Hope you find something that works! |
