Advice Please!!! I have been a YT member now for about a couple of months. I am due to get my baby on next week. My husband, son (age 7), and I are so excited. This is my situation. I just found out that my husband's job will be transferring him to Illinois the first of the year and we have to put our house up for sale. We have decided to stay with a family member (my sister) until my son finishes school. She has a shi zuh (?) I am wondering if this will be an easy transition due to her dog and us moving from our current home, to her home, and then to Illinois. Would it be too much for the new baby? I have left a deposit already and I've been talking with the breeder over a year regarding the pup. I hate to tell my son that we won't be able to get the baby. What do you all think? Thanks, Ladyt |
Once you move in with your sister, watch your baby carefully around their dog. It's not the puppy I'd worry about since they are so playful...it's an older dog that's not use to having a little one around. As far as you moving again, I think that as long as she is with you and her family (new pack), she'll be just fine. Can't wait for you to get her and post pictures! |
I think it will be Ok. Just show Both lots of Love. Soon you will be in your new home, enjoy your time with your sister! Can't wait to see pictures!!! :D |
That was another concern I had. The good thing is my sister spends a lot of time with her boyfriend who lives closer to her place of employment and Fluffy (her dog) is usually with her when she goes. |
She should be ok with the move. Cant wait to see pictures. |
I think your pup will be fine. Just make sure you introduce your pup with your sister's dog slowly and watch how they interact. When is time to move to your new home I thin he will be ok. I agreed with Tx. Congrats on the new pup. Cant wait to see pics. |
It should be fine. Dogs adapt as long as they are with their "pacK" and she is young and not use to a routine. I have a 8 year old pom who is not dog frindly and I just keep an eye on them and so far it's been ok they have their moments but no real problems. As far as I know s**tz zus are pretty mellow. Congratulations and keep us posted. |
Thank you all for your replies. My heart began to hurt when I thought about the possibility of me not being able to get my little boy. After I found out my situation I ran to the computer to post. This site really becomes your bible. Thanks again! Ladyt and Kiki |
I think your pup will be all the more social with moving like that...she won't get use to the same old same old and will be able to adapt to different situations much more easily...good luck with the new baby and the move.... |

Hi YT friends, This is an update to the above posting. It seems like yesterday when I posted that message. I've been here with my sister now for a month and will be relocating to Illinois at the end of July. We are relocating to the Rockford, IL area. Please if there is anyone that lives in the area any advice or information regarding the area would be wonderful. We have made a trip to the area and it is really nice. Thanks! |
