Is she trying to be cute or waiting for instructions? I have noticed that my little Neena often lifts her front left leg halfway while she is looking at me. It looks adorable :) ; what is she trying to say? Could she be waiting for further instructions, or is she just trying to be cute. Could this just be a Terrier trait? What say you? |
Thats soo funny you've said that, cuz my little Luigi does the same thing. He always has one paw up. I was wondering the same thing!!! You can see it in his pic over to the left!!! :) :) |
toby does this as well..... when i was little i had a cairn terrier and he did it too..... must be a terrier trait |
Newf does this as well. He looks as adorable as ever when he is doing it . Gotta love those moments!!!! :) |
I can't say that I've seen Bouncer do that, but when we're getting ready to leave from work everyday he knows what time it is and will jump up and extend one paw out like he's batting at something until I come and get him down from his littler perch area that he hangs out on. It's the cutest thing! |
Frankie does it, too. I love it when he does this... it's so adorable. Sometimes he does it with the other paw, and then several times. It's like he's saying, "oh, stop it, Mommy!" |
How cute! It sounds kinda like a submissive action or she is wanting to show a gesture of play? :p |
Leave it to Gracie to be different....she lifts one of her BACK legs like that! |
Both Tia and Sandy do that too! I know with Sandy it's a sign that she either wants a nice rub down or wants to play. Usually when I get down on the floor with her after she does that, she'll roll over onto her back for a tummy rub :) |
rolling over for a belly rub You mentioned that if you get down on the floor Sandy will roll over for a belly rub. Neena hates being rolled over or laying on her back. She will almost go into a state of panic when I make her do it. She settles down after I start rubbing her belly, but sometimes I wonder if she is just enduring it because she doesn't have much of a choice. She does love her belly rubbed though, but she'd rather have me do it while she is sitting. She is also paranoid of my duster... it's got a long handle. She'll hide and start shivering. I wonder what traumatized her before she was given to me  Thanks for all your replies :D |
I was told that exposing their tummy to you can give them a feeling of submissiveness, so it sounds like little Neena just doesn't want to be "controled" -- But then again, it may just be uncomfortable for her? :) Sandy is probably THE most submissive dog I've ever known. She rolls on her back when I get home or come in from being outside, it's like she wants me to know that's she's ready for a rub! So cute :) |
Gucci doesnt like me to turn her on her back. Only when she wants a belly rub she wil turn on her own. :) |
Rambo.................................... Hey Rambo does the paw thing too! However he only does it when he is on alert, when there is a noise outside he goes outside and does the thing with his paw...... The belly rubbing thingy,Rambo lives for it!!! I only have to put my hand by his chin and give him a tickle, i say rolly rolly to him and on his back he goes. he could have a belly rub for hours! he jumps on the sofa sometimes and waits for you to rub him! but sometimes if you stop he will nip your hand to make you rub his tumm again.he loves it love vikki and rambo :aimeeyork |
Keena does that too... but bella doesnt! |
