OMG!guess who ousted a mouse in the pantry This morning I got up early to start cooking...it was quiet in my kitchen and all of the sudden axel was standing in front of the pantry whinning, and then he would look at me and then whine....so I went over and said what is it axel there is nothing in the pantry HA! I moved a pan on the bottom where the floor is and it came running out right past him and over my foot! good doggy! Boy did I let a blood curdle scream...my poor husband didn't know what was wrong with me..I keep seeing little poops but never saw any food damage so I thought it was gone. We have the glue traps set for the nite...hopefully he will come out before all my company gets here. |
Mice, bunnies, squirrels, birds......none are safe in my home, yard, the neighbors yard. Sounds like you also have a good little hunter on your hands too. :D |
The "over my foot" comment did me in!:D If the glue traps don't get him and he takes a step on your guests feet, you are going hear more screams!:D |

We have certain places that we have to set mouse traps. When we catch one, our male yorkie (Rascal) will sit watch and "talk" to us until we take the mouse outside. They are very good with sniffing out those mice. Who needs a cat when you have a Yorkie? :D |
:yorkiesarGo "ratter dogs" oh no a glue trap, won't it still be alive?!? R u going to make your husband do away with it before it gets tossed out? Why do I even ask some questions? We use snap traps inside the safety boxes I feel bad for the little mice (as gross and diseased as they may be)... anyways we have three:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork "ratters" here and when we had a mouse (we were doing construction it was like putting out a welcome mat) the dogs went crazy spontaneously in the night so we started putting them out of the kitchen thinking it was the neighbors or the front windows they were bothered by, but in the morning they'd all run in there and be sniffing around like crazy-we couldn't figure it out until we found the little poohs...we have a pest control guy comes out once a month and sprays the house he gave us these traps that they go in and inside there is a snap trap (WHAM it's over for the mouse) so it's totally safe for the dogs and kids around too (the pest control guy has the only key that unlocks the traps) I heard you can buy similar ones but I've never seen them before the guy brought them over. |

Let's not forget that Yorkies were originally bred for the purpose of killing rodents.:D |

One of the funniest stories I've ever heard is a friend's mother put out one of the glue traps and as she and a niece were trying to decide what to do with the live mouse stuck on the trap, the cat pounced on it. The trap, mouse and all stuck to the cat. My friend's mother and her niece chased the cat all around the house trying to catch the cat who was extremely freaked out at having the trap stuck on him. |
We have four cats. Since we've had Piper she has caught 4. My cats try to catch them, but Piper is really good at it, you can really see the 'ratter" in her. She acts like she's coming off of sever drugs when she sees the critters, her eyes glaze over and she gets this Yippy sounding squeaking bark about her, she's in a whole other realm!!:p |
Thats why they were Raters years ago...what a great pup and hunter his is |

Those cats have nothing on "the ratter", they are really great at their craft, and she is smaller than all of the cats!!! what a riot!!:D |
I know exactly what you mean by eyes glazing over and that crazy yip when they see mice. I remember a few years ago, in one of my cabinets I had a big stainless steel bowl for a kitchenaide mixer. I open the cabinet and there is this little mouse who looks like those kids on skateboards going up to the top of the bowl and then slipping back down over and over again...well, I was on the counter screeching and all 5 of our Yorkies were going nuts!! Alot of noise.... It was quite a sight! Thank goodness DH was there, the rest of us were toast as far problem solving skills go;) |
That's funny and I would react the same way!! A bunch of Yorkies is sooo cute. Funny story!!:D |
