I need my YT friends right now! Hi everyone Sorry i have not been on in a month or so i have had alot going on. First let me catch u all up on Poppy. She is a little star hehe :D She is still really tiny only 3lb at 5months old (yes she is 5months old already!!!). She has her own little personality and has made me giggle alot the last month lol. She now sleeps in her bed in the kitchen of a night time with her puppy pad and she is 100% puppy pad trained. I let her wonder the whole of the house when i am out..... she aint chewed anything she is really good. She is quite a quiet puppy, no crying or yelping for attention and is happy to play with her toys when mummy is busy. I am so so hppy with her :D she is perfect for me! Anyway moving along the docs think my nana has cancer. Been really hard for me as my mum lives abroad and all my family live miles away so its just me and my nana... i only have her. So yeah been hard. My mum has come across tho to help and spend time with me also. My mum LOVES poppy she cant get enough of her hehe! I forgot how much this place cheered me up. seeing all the furbabies has put a huge smile on my face. Hope u can all accept me back in the YT gang again hehe. Hope your all keeping well, i've missed this place xxxxxx |
I am so sorry to hear about your Nana. I will keep her in my prayers. I lost my Dad to cancer in March after caring for him for 3 years. Just know by being their for your Nana is the best medicine for her and will leave you with lasting memories. Hugs. |
Thank you <3 xxxx |
I'm sorry to hear of your Nana's diagnosis:( I hope that the doctors are able to help her. BIG hugs, and good thoughts headed your way. Poppy sounds perfect, you're doing a great job with her, and I know that she'll help you get through anything! |
so happy to hear Poppy is doing great and so sorry to hear about your Nana. You are in Hammer and I's prayers. |
So sorry, Nana will be in our prayers. Poppy is a real doll baby! |
Welcome back, and so sorry about the news and diagnoses. Just hang tough, and todays medicine is outstanding, and hoping for a good recovery. |
I Wish You Well I am so sorry to have you come back to YT with such sad news. Your little Poppy will be such a comfort to you as you help your Nana. She'll be GREAT medicine for you Nana, too as it is so hard not to feel happy when you see the love these little furbabies have to give. My grandfather passed 2 years ago. He was my FAVORITE relative. I miss him terribly but find such comfort in the days I spent with him at hopsice in the end. He had me with him during all of his daytime hours. I just sat with him, told him things I remembered about our times together through the years, and held his hand. It was probably the hardest thing I've ever been through, but at the same time, I cherish those times that I gave my heart and time to him 100% filled with unconditional love. I truly believe he knew I was there until the very end. Give your Nana hugs from all of us and let her know that many people are praying for her health and happiness. Make sure Poppy gives her lots of puppy kisses. I am carrying you close to my heart. Be at peace. |
I agree with small mans. We lost my dad 5 years ago to congestive heart failure, and his last year was divided between the hospital, a nursing home, and a hospital bed in my living room. As hard as it was to see his daily struggle, I cherish every minute I had with him ( even the yucky stuff) and wouldn't trade any of it for any amount of money. ( I can just hear my dad saying "are you crazy? Take the money!" at that last sentence.) But it gave all of us a chance to hear all of his stories (he was a wonderful storyteller about our family history) many times - all it took was "do you remember..." to get him rolling. And even though we were all coming to terms with reality there was a lot of laughter and the tears were shed in private. And when I look back, I get a lot of comfort from knowing that I did everything I could to keep him comfortable and happy that year. I hope you will have many more years with your Nana, but that you will remember every day that there is nothing more important in life than your loved ones. It's so easy to forget that when we're so busy with work or school or hobbies. Big hugs to you, Nana, and Mom. |
You are welcome back anytime! No apologies necessary. Life sometimes gets overwhelming. I'm so very sorry to hear your nana has cancer. I hope that you know that whenever you are feeling down that you can come here and talk with us. I wish your family was there with you. That is tough. Please take care and give some extra hugs to your special little Poppy. |
Natasha I am so sorry to hear about your Nana. I know how close you are to her. I can understand what you are going through. Bruce has just been diagnosed with lung cancer, so I really do understand what you are going through. But - the doctor only thinks your Nana has cancer, so let's wait until you know for sure. Without the right tests etc they cannot be sure. So think positive. I have been told so many times this last couple of days how medicine has advanced so much. I am going to share an e-mail I got from a good friend. Maybe you can get something out of it too. "Hugs, honey - prayers and a pep talk cancer (never with a capital - gives it importance) is beatable. Look at me - I did it. Find an aggressive doctor. Get the attitude - Bruce has it already as seen by his " I've got 10 more cruises left in me..." you need to have the attitude too. Having cancer is a battle, and Bruce has to wage the best battle he's ever fought. Tell Bruce to tell himself every morning and every night - I am the winner in this! Oh...never say "Bruce's cancer" or let him say "my cancer"....that gives it ownership. You sure the hell don't want to own it!!!! " this is a friend who has beaten cancer (think it was breast cancer). Please let us know how your Nana is doing. And I am so shocked to hear that Poppy is already 5 months old. It only seems like yesterday we were fighting to keep her alive. Time does go by:) |

This brought tears to my eyes cause I lost my mom 25 years ago and I still have a hard time with it somedays. She never gave up evenwhen they told her she had 6 months to live. She fought it for 2 years (back then they didn't have the meds they have now) I will pay for both of your loved ones. I know it is not easy and it can be beat! We are all here if you need an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Love you both!!! |
We are so sorry for what you have been going through!!!! I really hope the doctors can help your nana. Welcome back with big hugs:) |
Glad you are back and you are so right, YT can be just what we need from time to time. So sorry to hear about your Nana. Prayers for her recovery and health are being sent your way. :) |
Natasha, I'm sorry to hear about your Nana. I hope that the docs can do all all that they can for your grandmom. YT family is here, when you want/need to share. I feel like Sylvia when I read Poppy was 5mths old, it too feels like yesterday, when we were all fighting to keep your little one alive. Be well, and it is nice to hear from you again. |
We don't kick people off for having a life! We do worry a bit, though... My prayers for your dear Nana, sending healing, positive energy for her as well. Take as much time as you need... you will always be welcome here. So glad Poppie is such a joy in your life. |
Thanks for all the lovely comments. Brought tears to my eyes! The doctor came out to speak with my mother and nana about her test results. She has four large lumps attached to her gullet and the doctor said its more than likely cancer but my nan is going bk the hospital for more tests on tuesday. My nan smoked about 40 a day and she has a terrible cough. My aunite is coming to join us on thursday of next week which will be nice. Oh i forgot to tell u all.... guess whos ears are standing up hehe! Poppy is a big girl now :D xxxx |
Natasha, I've missed you. I'm sorry to hear about your Nana. You are very lucky to have each other. She sounds very special, and I hope with you at her side that she can fight her illness. My heart and prayers are with you. |
Her ears are standing? She is growing up so fast! Sending special prayers for your nana and I'm very glad to know your mom and aunt are there. That will help a lot. |
I cant believe I missed this thread! I have been wondering where you had got to and was hoping you were both okay. Im sorry to hear about your nana, the 'C' word is very scary and as soon as its mentioned people tend to think the worst. But remeber how far medicine has come and more and more people are surviving cancer. Im glad to hear Poppy is doing well and I will keep you all in my thoughts. xx |
So sorry ((((hugs)))) |
The BEST medicine in the world, is the love and kisses of a little "furbutt". Puppies are too cute not to be just loved back, even when you just can't make it happen, even for your self. Your Nana has her family and is surrounded by the love and support, the rest, who knows, you fight for. Besides who can resist a puppy standing on you giving you wake up kisses? Makes a happiness to be treasured. Lots of prayers and support.:animal-pa |
My mother in law was told 17 years ago that she had a tumor in her head that was going to kill her in 6 months, here in NJ. My husband, then boyfriend, showed up at my store crying with the news. I then drove one of the girls home that worked for me that night and we were at a traffic light and i was crying too. She said, " dont worry Cancer is just a really bad word, it does not mean your going to die". i looked at her like she was nuts and she said" i had cancer 6 years ago and im still here( she had ovarian cancer and it was attached to the colon too) she was 27 then , She is now 44 years old and is still cancer free and even had a child 8 years ago with one ovary. My mom in law then spoke to the girl that worked for me and was convinced to go to Sloan in the city. Well my mom in law is now 76 years old and cancer free from a diagnosis of 6 months to live...Cancer may just be ...a word...a bad one but ive seen it for myself what proper treatment can do. god bless xoxox0 |
