puppy teeth wont fall out Hi my male yorkie 4 canine teeth were pulled when he was nurtured because they would not fall out. Now my little girl is going through the same thing. Her bottom canines are coming in on the inside of her puppy teeth and her top canine teeth are growing in front of her puppy teeth. How long should I wait to have them extracted by the vet. Dec. 2 is her 6 month b-day. |
I would take her to the vet and let him take a look at them. He may be able to tell you if he thinks they will fall out on their own or not. |
Generally retained teeth are removed at the same time as her spay. |
I would definitely have the vet check them to give you an idea of whether or not they are likely to fall out on their own. If they aren't, the longer they are left in, the more likely they are to displace the alignment of the permanent teeth. |
Retained canine teeth are very common in Yorkies. Some take up to 8 months to loose them, others, because of the root system being deep seated, require them to be pulled at the time of spay/nueter. |

whenever our pets get spayed or neutured, the vet will usually extract any remaining baby teeth that your pet should have. Fiona lost all her baby teeth except for one when she was 5 months old, when I got her spayed, they extracted her 1 upper K9 tooth that didn't fall out on it's own. Dont be surprised if you dont see any baby teeth, since they usually swollow them, or fall out when your not looking..... |
