Oh my, what a doll!!!! I use natural balance SMALL BITES potatoe & duck. I must admit it is a little expensive but for as much as she eats it lasts a long time. Sadie does well with it. She has been eating it most of her life. She will be three in feb. If you give her fruit don't give her grapes. They are toxic. You will get alot of help from this forum. Don't be afraid to ask ?'s. Alot of people on here are very informative and most are very nice. Good luck with your little girl. |
Here is a list of good foods. I always look for kibble that isn't too big, so that it is easy to chew. Mine doesn't do well with big kibble. I use Natural Balance Ultra Premium Small Bites Chicken and Rice formula. Everyone has their own choice and preference and their yorkies have their own preferences, too.:D http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html |

Thanks everyone! I stopped by Petco and picked up some Natural Balance Ultra Premium Small Bites Chicken and Rice formula and also some merrick puppy plate and tried the Natural Balance with a little water and microwaved it for 7 seconds and she ate some right away! She walked right by it, just dry though. Hopefully she'll continue liking it :) Quote:
Then the next day when she was being picky again, I thought I'd see if she'd eat a little hamburger meat and man did she go crazy over that! But again, I don't want to get her hooked on human food! Hope that makes sense. :) |
Oh goodness just thought of something. You have cats. Lift that litter box up off the floor out of reach of the pup!! I also feed Karma up high as he likes to snack all day, and my dogs would inhale his food in a jiffy. Recently I had to move up to bookshelf as I caught my big male, with paws up on the chest freezer happily snacking away on his food. You don't want her (and I know this sounds gross) snacking in that litter box! Also supervise the cat/pup play time really well. Razzle my yorkie is an absolute terror on my Maine coone. I don't allow them to play too much together, as he is relentless, and as gentle as my Karma is, he has all his claws. eye scratches can happen in a flash. If the cats are allowed free roam of the house at night, please crate your pup by your bed, out of drafts. Put warm n cozy blankey in crate. I like a cool room so I also cover Razz's crate with a fleecey. The T;s are so cute, but she will need a warm winter jacket as well. take a look at my moving avatar and you can see Razz all decked out for winter. |
Hailey just finished her entire plate of Natural Balance! That's the most I've ever seen her eat!! Thanks all, I hope it continues!!! Quote:
As for the crate, I got a large dog crate for her, and I put it in my theater room which has ton's of insulation and is very warm. She goes in the crate at night time - usually cries for a couple mins. And also whenever I leave the house or can't supervise her. I have a wool type bed in there along with a towel for her to snuggle under. The jacket - I just picked one up for her! But unfortunately, it's a little too big for her, and it's an XS. Hopefully in the next week or two so she'll grow into it :) |
Congratulations She is adorable and looks spoiled already. |
