Just a quick question... Not a big deal just wondered... Hello to my fellow Yorkie Mama's & Papa's out there... I was just wondering if your little prince or princess is a foot licker... meaning... Do you often find your pooch licking your toes and just basically your feet? Yea I am often in my bare feet, even in the dead of winter!! Nicky does this to me ALL the time, I was wondering if it's a yorkie trait or what... Because Rocky... Nicky's older brother (lol) doesn't do this. Just wondered if it was just nicky or all yorkies?!?:D:p |

Our little boy Houston has nearly gotten himself accidently knocked out of the bed a couple of times. It seems he has a fetish for my wife's toes. She's asleep, he starts licking, then she starts kicking. :confused: |
Rizzo isn't really a licker at all, with the exception that any time my bf hangs his hand over the side of the couch, or his bare feet he gets lots of little yorkie kisses. But he doesn't really lick me, I figure I must not taste as yummy, haha. |
Ben (yorkie) always tries to lick my feet/toes and my legs after I shower, especially after I put lotion on them. I think he really likes the taste of my lotion. I make him stop as I am not sure the lotion is all that good for him, plus it feels weird. Candy (our Jack Russell) does not do this. So not sure if one breed is more inclined to do it or not. |
Yes Troy is a feet licker!I don't think it's a yorkie thing because I've had other dogs that would do it as well. It has something to do with the sodium from our sweat that dogs like. Also if you notice most dogs like to get your right when you're coming out the shower or putting on lotion. It's a new scent and dogs explore with their mouths. I also believe its an affection thing. Although I'm very ticklish on my feet, I don't mind him giving a lick or two. |
Levi is totally a foot-licker. But he is also a hands-licker, face-licker, sheet-licker, pillow-licker...He just really, really likes to lick. |
Jackson is not really a licker at all. If he's REALLY excited to see me, or someone else, he will give a few but it's never obsessive and he rarely gives me kisses, lol. |
Pixie is a foot-licker. But, she also likes arms, legs, hands...etc. She also licks the legs after you have gotten out of the shower. My husband tells me it is because of the salt is why is licks. |

Well Sasha is the foot licker in our house. He's obsessed with them. However both he and Simba really enjoy face licking. They both will give you an entire face massage with their tounges if you'll let them. |
:p I am so glad to find out some other Yorkies are not kissy lickers. About the only time Sophie gives us a lick is when she wants us to put her down. I was thinking we were just not that lickable. Our latest, Bella, licks us way more and she wags her tail alot. Sophie? Not so much. We love her anyway. |
Scarlett is a big time licker. Her latest fascination is with arm pits (ugh!) |
Haha, I just started a thread and someone said you started a thread about this. I thought my dog was an alien haha because he is ALWAYS licking my feet. I thought he did it out of love....I find it so weird. Is it even weirder that I let Chewy lick...lol. It is strange that he is the only one that does it, as I have two other yorkies. |
