How many times would you visit the breeder before you decide to buy a puppy ? I hope people don't mind me posting billions of questions.. daily :D I just want to be careful.... Anyway... I was thinking... how many times is okay to visit the breeder before I decide to put deposit? I just cannot imagine myself visiting the breeder once and decide... I would need a couple chances to ask all the questions... But then.. maybe a breeder would get annoyed... then if I don't buy a puppy from a breeder.. that might be bad too... If you guys can share your experiences, that would be great. Arigato in advance, michiko |
Well the breeder I got my dogs from was two hours away form my house so I asked my questions and purchased the dog then and there. I bought Jewels from the same breeder so I already knew her. |
If the breeder gets mad bc you want to visit more than once then I would not want to buy a puppy from that breeder. If they are a good breeder they should understand that this is a life changing decision and it may take some time to decide and plus they should want to make sure that their babies go to a good home. The lady that I bought my puppy from has been my moms friend since high school. So we know her very well she would let me go visit anytime I wanted and she is the same way with all others that buy puppies from her. |
I would advise getting most of your questions answered before visiting the breeder. (phone, internet, referals etc.) It is sooooooooo hard to walk away from an available puppy once you hold it. When you go to see the puppy your questions should be about that particular puppy plus you get a chance to see living conditions etc. If you are just in the researching stage (not ready or able to buy) then that's a different story. Just be sure to put on your cuteness resistant armor, it's VERY hard to walk away without a puppy! |

I am looking into getting a yorkie feb-april... so.. even I want to walk away with a puppy I cannot :) So I will probably visit the breeders and see parents.. then... wait for next litter.. or something like that. michiko Quote:
