purchising my yorkie in two weeks hello, i am new to yorkitalk..I have been looking for an yorkie for over an month now..i have come across an advertisment for yorkie puppies for sale at 350.00 with AKC pappers...i have been talking to the breeder regulary....she isn't around her puppies this week, even tho she had an 9 week old female for the same price but i wasn't ready for that one..then she tells me she has one ready in an few weeks, that she will save for me.....she said she owns both the dam and sir, and she will meet me half way..i know it is an very low price for the pup, but i am just nervous a little... hope this lady is for real... i use to breed golden retrievers..and it is a lot of responsibility. i didn't sell mine for money either..i sold my for cheap, and they came with papers, pedigree, and potty trained....i even donated puppies to special needs. i will let you all know if this lady was good or not...:confused::confused: :animal36skooter:aimeeyorkpursie |
A good breeder will keep her puppies until they are 12 weeks of age. They need to be with their mother and siblings. Does she offer a health guarantee and what is it? Have you googled her name and the name of her business, if there is one, to see what comes up? Welcome to YT!:) |
People wanting to meet you half way with a puppy for sale should set off red flags all over the place. Why do they not want you to see where the puppy is raised? She had one ready to go at 9 weeks (as stated by yorkieusa -- too young) and now she has another ready to go in a couple more weeks? How many breeding dams does she have? Are they even her pups? Is she a broker? Or worse a thief? Why is she "not around her pups this week?" You have to really check these people out. If a breeder is doing their job right, there is not way they can break even selling AKC puppies with papers for $350! What about puppy shots? What about a vet check? Was the dam and sire fully tested prior to breeding? Are they to standard? You want to SEE the dam and sire not just hear about them. All yorkie pups look cute but many do not come close to the Yorkie standard and many will not look at all like a yorkie at adulthood because of poor breeding practices. Save yourself some heartache and scratch this one off. A good breeder will ask you a LOT of questions to see if you are good enough to take her puppy. A good breeder will not be meeting you half way with only the puppy and who knows whose papers. A good breeder will have a good health guarantee that will include the option for you to keep the puppy and at least share vet expenses for any genetic problems. |
Run. Buy the breeder, then the Pup. No way would I buy there. Start here, start with the best. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America Pay me now, or pay me later. |
