How long can a yorkie puppy hold? How long can a yorkie puppy hold their pee? How old the puppy can be potty trained good. michiko |
I've read that it takes anywhere from 4 to 6 months for puppies to develope complete bladder and bowel control. When I first got Gus (two months old) he needed to go out every 1 to 2 hours during the day (to be sure of he wouldn't go inside) and every 3 to 4 at night. Slowly over months, he was able to hold it a little longer. He wasn't completely housebroken until a year old. My first yorkie could hold his bladder much longer at the same age and would sleep through the night without accidents from the beginning. He was completely housebroken at 4 months. Just like human babies, they are all different. |
develop  sometimes I really miss that edit button. :D |

all dogs are different so some train faster then others. |
So they usually pee in middle of the night too until they get older? |
Samson could go all night without peeing by 3 months but we also crate trained him so I don't know if that makes a difference. Now he is 8 months and even though I know he can hold it for quite a long time, when he is out of his crate all day he wants to go about every hour. |
max was able to hold it all night by the time he was about 3 months old. now he is 10 months old and can hold it all day while we are at work, which is about 10 hours. we used to keep him in his kennel during the day and now we keep him in the kitchen since we are sure he can hold it. i think all dogs are going to be different and its how their bladder is trained. |
Maggie can hold hers until she feels like it. Honestly, she does what she wants. It's ridiculous. But, it's getting much better. I try to take her out about every 2 hours, just incase. But you know we all slip up here and there and cause them to have an accident. She's 11 months and stillllll not completely trained :( It's getting better though, so i'm just hoping this will all work out soon. |
