LOL, I just turned 50 and have 2 yorkies, a lab and a bichon. My kids think as I get older I'll get "wiser" and cut down on the amount of little furbabies I have! I keep telling them I'll think about it when they moved out, get married and give me some "skin" little grandchildren. :yelrotflm Little do they know, I intend to keep adding to my little zoo, as long as I can! So I say....YOU GO.....I hope to be like you someday! Good luck on your new little one! :congrats:

The older we get the wiser we get. The wiser we get...well of course it stands to reason we would want more furbabies. 'tis the wisest thing to do!

My dtr is always fussing that I have too many furbabies (I have 3 and want another). I tell her it's her fault. (she will be 24 in a couple of weeks). I tell her if she would remarry and have kids I might not keep getting them. I am 46 and want grandkids.

Awh yes age. Getting older means a few more stiff joints in the am, wondering where this or that went, and does it mean Alzheimer's??

But here are the hands, that have held pups and babies over the years, soothed hurts, nursed through many ailments. Our reflexes might not be as sharp anymore, but our eyes do see, the misstep of a pup, the eye that is not as bright as it should be. We've learnt a whole lot, to assess the food we feed to this young one, the vaccines to give or not and when. We've trained more than one dog through housebreaking, and maybe through obedience titles. We've loved and lost, and loved again.

We have much to give a little one. Years of experience, a heart grown large with time, patience and time, good loving is wrapped around the knowing discipline of experience. We've learnt to know our own shortcomings, as it pertains to dogs. We've modified, got in help when needed, planned for the future of our pup. We've established a good long term relationship with a vet.

We know that the pact between a human and a dog, is a sacred one. We stand or sit in awe of the love they show us. We know our time with them is so very short, so we enjoy each moment of every day with them.

We've learnt that life isn't always to the swift. That there is more to life than increasing it's speed. That with whatever the years left the Universe have granted us, that this now, this pup, this dog, is a real part of who we are, and what we are meant to do.

Gail, I don't know your age - but you are definitely wise beyond your years. Beautifully noted!

Lisa, my friend, right back at you. You are a light in my life. I never knew I could find a friend that I feel so much for on the net.

I know that you have loved and really truly still have your love bond with your pups.

If I was a breeder of Yorkies, I would feel honored to place a pup with you and John. Feel that they would not only be safe in your care, but all the best would be given them. Training, walks, love, best of vet care.

I await joyously the day, you say Gail. psst, guess what, I've found a Yorkie pup!!

Re: Pictures of my #5 new addition. will those of you who have tried to take a picture of five Yorkies all together, please raise your hand..........and wave a white flag! We're trying! And for those of you trying who are trying to get your parents to jump on board Computer Land, find a subject they are absolutely rabid about (and everyone has something) then lead them to Google, or some search engine.......they'll be amazed! I sat and stared at my daughter's computer for two years before I dared move the cursor! For me, it was geneaology.......Texas Hold "Um works too! LOL! I thank you for every word of encouragement......joy is contagious with Yorkies! Oh, and an 85 year old wonderful breeder/exhibitor just had her last show........we are just about invincible!
