FlDebra | 11-09-2010 10:44 AM | I may have gotten too optimistic. Annie is still limping -- this is a week and a half now. This morning she must have put her weight on it wrong or something because she started yelping LOUD and then cried. (Like tobroke my heart!) The other two dogs were in the next room and she was no more than 3 feet from me when she started yelping. So, no one hurt her or bumped into her this time. I called and got an appointment and just got back from taking her to the vet again. They could not find anything wrong except maybe a little tender at a place on the neck. I did not see her act like it was tender at all and only one of the two vetswho examined seem to think maybe she was a little tender there. I think for lack of anything better they are guessing she may have injured her disk a little. He doesn't think it is bad (of course the little stinker actually put her weight on her leg and ran in the vet's office) so he just wants to continue with anti-inflammatory and he did mix up a little pain med -- very small amount because she is so tiny. I have to leave here in a few minutes so I am not going to give the pain med til I get back just in case she reacts bad to it.
I am getting worried about her. I am going to crate rest her for a week and only get her out to go outside and play on my lap only. Maybe that will help. I think as soon as it starts getting better she is reinjuring it from her rough housing. She is pretty active for a hurt puppy. :) Maybe I am being overly worried but I have never had one limp this long.
While I was at the vet I met a lady with a pretty Yorkie girl and we found out hers is related to my Ben! They both have the same father, different mothers. I invited her here, so hope to see a Kelly from FL join up! :) Small world! |
