He is acting like a pregnant woman...
 
and has morning sickness. Okay I don't mean to make light of the situation. BUT...The last few weeks, about 2-3 times a week Mr. Keeley has been waking up at about 6 o'clock in the morning to throw up, and then he goes back to bed.

I feel so bad for him and can't figure out what it could be...

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

He does have a history of motion sickness when we go for long rides in the car.

I am only passing this on from my vet. Simon does the same thing and although he has lots of tummy problems my vet told me that it may be due to the amount of time between feedings. I now give Simon a snack before bed and he hasn't had the morning pukies since.

Is he getting into anything while you are sleeping?

Have you tried a different brand of food? What are you feeding him? I read some feedback on "Wellness" brand and found that larger breed owners seemed happy with it, but smaller breeds tended to puke after they ate. Maybe it is something like that.

Is it foam coming up? If it is he's hungry, and
needs a bedtime snack. hmmmmmm
Not sure what it could be.
Is he OK in the day?
Well we know he's not pregant. so
I would call your vet and ask whats up.

Bentley use to do that..and turns out they need to eat something before they go to bed or the acid in their stomach will build up and they will throw up in the morning

I am sure it is the food thing, now that you guys mention it. Usually we leave a little food out at night, but there are a few nights that we haven't and those are probably the mornings he has thrown up.

It is foamy and he is totally fine durring the rest of the day.

Thank you!! :thumbup: I love being able to come here with my questions. We are going to the vet next week, and so I'll ask him if the night snacks don't help.

Gus was doing the same thing and I finally realized it was the mornings after I brushed his teeth (I know, I'm bad - I wasn't brushing every day). It was the dog toothpaste. Since I've stopped he never throws up during the night. Not sure if that's the problem with Mr. Keeley but thought I'd put that out there for anyone having the same problem.

I haven't stopped brushing his teeth, just using toothpaste.
