Minksheen, Pet Silk,Cranberry Fields.. What works best for a cotton coat? Ok.. Miss Taycie has a coat coat. It gets matted and tangles easy and need something that will work better then what I am using. Right now we are using John Paul Mitchell Pet. I get a discount because I cut hair... so that is nice but I am not that impressed with it. Being a stylist I have LOADS of products so.. Taycie will aquire her fair share too... What are your suggestions? I hear rave reviews about Minksheen pet silk/cranberry fields.. Any other suggestions???? I am slightly shocked Minksheen is an all in one shampoo. Hmmm... |

I use Minksheen. I tend to think Jackson is a 'modified' coat in between silky and cottony. Because he's certainly not cottony and fluffy at all, but his coat also doesn't lay flat when longer, it just kind of curls. Anyways, I really am happy with Minksheen for the most part. Some don't like the smell, it can be pretty strong when bathing them... it's got a cologne type smell. But I LOVE it because I like strong smells on my dog so he smells good for a few days. :) It also makes him super soft and really shiny! It also has bug repellent which is really nice. I'm always looking for new shampoo's though because Minksheen is running low and I don't know if I want to pay for shipping, etc, again. I'd like to find something locally. I have heard great things about Cranberry Fields, never used it though. |
Does anyone know where I could possibly get a trial size of Cranberry Fields? I like Minksheen and love Yorkie Splash and Shine. Always looking for more stuff for my baby! |

I have been using Minksheen since the spring. I *really* like it for the most part, BUT, it makes Maddies hair a little greasy looking. Cooper's coat does fine with it, but she has a very fluffy cotton coat. (She is a mix) I had used CloudStar before and really liked it. However, the retailer I was getting it from stopped carrying it. I will check out the links mentioned above also. :) |
I like Minksheen, although I am not crazy about the smell -- I always thought I could smell the marigold in there. I do love the natural insect repellent it has. I have not used any Frontline for over a year and no bugs! I love the smell of Cranberry Fields, like oatmeal cookies! It also left their coats shiny and silky. I liked Pet Silk and Fluffy Puppy too. I LOVE Espree products: the Natural Coconut Hypoallergenic shampoo and the Silky Show Shampoo as well as the Luxury Remoisturizer (conditioner) -- they all leave them looking great and smell nice too. Espree has SO MANY different shampoo formulations, I bet you could find one that worked great for your pup! Take a look here: Espree moisturizing shampoo - Shop sales, stores & prices at TheFind.com just to get an idea at how many choices they offer. They will send you samples too! Best to call them and tell them what you need and ask for samples to a few of the shampoo fomulations they recommend. They are a great company to work with! I use Minksheen most of the time. (Using conditioner after Minksheen is still okay but it might interfere with the natural insect repellent). Then I use Espree or one of the others I have on hand occasionally when I am wanting a different smell. I would say I use the Minksheen at least 3 out of 4 shampoos. |
Sophie has a fluffy, cottony coat and Yorkie Splash, Shine & Sheen are the only product I will use now. You should see and feel how wonderful her coat looks now. She smells awesome, too! :) |

Mine have the silky coats but I had a female that had a modified silk coat, as best as I can figure anyway. It looked silky but was very thick and when she was young it sort of puffed out instead of laying flat like Ben's. The Espree and Minksheen worked well on both types. |
