Yeah Maya!!!! Ok promise me you won't laugh..but it's like watching a baby develop skills all over again. Miss Maya has never been able to jump up on Mommie's big bed. Mika delighted in the territory that Maya could not conquer and loved looking over the bed at Maya's one millionth attempt to get up there where she was. I would reach a hand down to get Maya and then would ensue her backing away from my hand even though she wanted to get up. If I stopped trying she would bark at me until I got UP out of the bed, and came to get her. Needless to say, I finally went to Petco and bought some pet stairs. (I got the 25.00 version with some little carpet that fits over the 3 stairs. Like most things involving pets, they had some with some MUCH higher price tags). Ok so then, how to get Miss Maya to realize they were hers and get her to use them??? I tried several things, then suddenly today it just clicked AND UP THE STEPS SHE GOES. ahhh life is good when you have a smart yorkie.... But now Miss Mika is running around the perimeter of the bed whining and Maya is up here barking at her and blocking all of her entrance attempts....someday we'll be together (sang it with Dianna Ross) LOL |
That's so funny. Pay backs a you know what. lol |
Awww! At least you don't have to step train her! That would be nice, Coco is bigger (about 18-20 pounds) and we still and to step train her. It was still pretty easy, but it would be nice if we didn't have to. No she flies up ad down steps in literally one second flat! |
Haha! What a picture! |
Well she just ran up here again on prompting so now I know it is solidly in her mind and not a one time fluke. I'm so happy , now I don't have to deal with that anymore, the cat and mouse game. However, the lure of my bed is not for Mika anymore and she has left from some other part of the house for a proper sulk. In the meantime, Maya and I are contentedly watching Dancing with the Stars. |
Oh, that's so funny! I could just picture it in my mind as you told it. They are just like little kids!:D |

Ohhhh.... similar situation with ours. When we purchased a new bed about 4 years ago (much higher than the old one), Meadow (aka Piggers) couldn't jump up on it. Houston (Pooter Butt) loved that. When we got the steps, Houston was heartbroken. Meadow in the bed and Houston sulking under a chair just glaring like (What the h*ll?~I swear he actually verbalized it) Soon he realized that daddy has two arms and he doesn't have to lay beside her. She can lay on one side and he can lay on the other. :) They actually get along really well, but he thought that the bed was ALL his. |

They would play with each other, but he never joined them, he only wanted to play with mom and dad. For the longest, since he was the only one potty trained he got the bed all to himself, once they were potty trained and allowed to sleep with us, I think he got REALLY jealous because he had mom and dad all to himself. He's so laid back, but at times, I think he wishes he was an only child. |
My dearest friend Michael is a confirmed cocker spaniel person (we will pray for him right?). He started out with his girl SUmmer, mated her and she had a litter out of which he kept Syndi, Syndi had a litter out of which he kept Sybil (yeah he had DYnasty going on at his house). Now SUmmer is one step off of being human, and when much younger Syndi and Sybil were cutting up she would sit in front of Michael, make eye contact and say with her eyes "YOU BETRAYED ME, you insisted that I have them, and then you promised you would give them away...but noooooooo you just had to keep two right??? We were doing so well you and I , wasn't I ENOUGH, selfish foolish MAN YOU" Haruuuuuuuuuuuuuuumph, and then she would walk away head down. |
OMG Misti..you have me laughing so hard. The cocker spaniel story was so funny!!! My friend brought over her Coton De Tulear the other day and Pasquale had devil eyes on her since the first thing she went for was HIS basket of toys!! HOW dare she!! LOL |
That was really a funny story. Zoe gives me that look whenever Zach starts acting up. |
Ok I have posted this before, but I thought you might like to see Michael and my neices again. Since I last posted them, Summer (the ogriginal mother), and Sybil (the gradndaughter) have both passed on (they are the two parti colored ones), Syndi (the red head) is the only one left living. I can't tell you Michael's pain, it is not possible to put it into words, He cries often still. |
It won't show because it's a bitmap darn |
