Brought Harlow home today! I went and picked Harlow up today from the breeder! She is finally mine for good :) I ended up spending three hundred dollars at pet sense lol I just couldn't help it. I had to buy her everything! She did have a few accidents in the house but she also used her puppy pad. I bought her a small play pen to stay in with her toys and sleep stuff on one end and a puppy pad on the other. She seems to like it. I'm so happy! I just adore her. Any advice you have on raising a baby yorkie is welcome! Especially about housebreaking, bc I eventually hope to get her to use it outside everytime. Oh and she's almost three months old. She's just really tiny if that information helps with the advice :) |
Ooooh congratulations! How exciting! Lots of chew toys, the spray to keep her from chewing your house up, (literally, mine tries to chew my kitchen table) a lot of consistency and love :-) That last part is easy! Give us tons of picture and we will all remain happy  |
She is beautiful - my only advice about house training when she is that young is if you want to get her used to going outside is to train yourself to take her out every hour. Mabel is 5 1/2 months and can now wait and I take her out every two hours. We were lucky with Mabel as she has always held it when she is in her crate at night and I didn't wake up during the night to take her out. She is fairly much house trained now with just the very occasional accident. I'm looking forward to seeing more pics and hearing more about Harlow! |
Congrats!!! Sounds like she will be one spoiled little princess! |
What a lil beauty...she is adorable....CONGRATULATIONS!!! you are going to have so much fun... advice? keep her safe...Shay is like a lil ant eater, he doesnt miss a trick! I have to be very diligent on making sure, nothing he can't have, hasnt fallen onto the floor...also cords to lamps, when he is running around like a crazy man...I make sure the cords aren't there for him to catch his neck. all in all? baby proof..lol..and love..love..love on her, which I am sure will be the easy part! can't wait to see more pics...we love pictures.... |
Congratulations. My 2 that I pad trained will not ever go outside, so if you want her to go outside you may want to start her on that right away. I do have one that won't use pads at all and one that will go outside and use the pads. So I guess it just depends if they will train on one and then make he switch. |
Congratulations on your new addition :) I would suggest if you want her to go outside, be consistent and take her outside every two hours. Good luck! You will be exhausted :p |
Congrats! May you have many happy years together. My advice- the playpen will only contain her for a short time. Tallulah will stay in hers if I'm in the room with her. If unattended she gets out. I'm using a pen now to keep her safe when I'm not there to watch her. Have lots of patience and just love that little baby! |

OMG she is so cute!. I would just keep her in the playpen for at least another month and use the pee pads. They really can't hold it until they are about 4 months, but of course its good to get her used to going outside. Remember lots and lots of praise when she goes where she is suppose to. Can't wait to see more pictures. |
Congratulations! |
