Introduction Hi everyone! I really hope that I am posting this in the right place! LOL My name is Kelly and I live in Jacksonville, Florida. I had a Yorkie that passed about a year and a half ago. His name was Casey and he was the sweetest little boy in the whole world. Ever since then I've missed having a Yorkie. We now have a Bassethound named Molly. She's a sweetheart too, but not one for cuddling! My mother passed away recently and she had a Yorkie from the same litter as my Casey. Her name is Raini. My Stepfather doesn't think that he can take care of her and we also think that she's missing my Mom a lot. I sound a lot like my Mom and we wore the same perfume and I've noticed that every time I've gone over to my stepfather's house recently she's been very loving towards me and wanting me to hold her and play with her. So as of today, Raini will be coming to live at my home with me, my fiancee, his 9 year old daughter, Molly the Basset and three cats. This won't be the first time that Raini will be around other animals. My parents had a mixed breed dog that Raini grew up with, so she's used to other animals. Because my Mom was sick for a while before she passed, I'm not sure how long it's been since Raini had a checkup. So I'm taking her to Molly's Vet (who we love sooo much) and I'm going to have a complete physical done for her. I also noticed that she hasn't been brushed well lately and her little fur is matted. So I'm afraid that I'm going to have to have her cut close and then let her hair grow back out. I admit that I'm a little nervous because of Raini's age. She just turned 10 and I know that things are going to be very different for her. But I'm hoping that she'll like living with us and everyone gets a long well together. I am excited though, because I love the Yorkie breed and Raini was my mom's "princess", and it makes me miss my Mom a little less to have Raini with me. I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. And feel free to pass along any advice. I have a feeling I'm going to need it! Thanks, Kelly aka MollyRainiMommy |

So Sorry for your losses. It brought tears to my eyes to hear that you were taking in your moms little princess. My mom died 15 years ago and her baby (toy poodle) died just weeks after she did. I hope all goes well for you both. Welcome to YT, post pictures when you can we love pictures. |
Hi Kelly Very touching story. I hope everyone adjusts as they should. It sounds like you are prepared to give her all the love she needs to cope with her new surroundings. Good luck to you - and welcome to YT. |
Hi Kelly, Welcome to YT. I'm so very sorry about your Mom. I think her lil yorkie would love to live with you. Of course, she misses your mom and I think she'll miss her less with you and the other members of your family around. She is 10 and she needs special attention. Yorkies grieve, too. Let us know how it goes with the checkup. OK? |
Welcome to YT Kelly. Losing your mom is so hard, I'm sorry you had to go through that! I'm sure your mom is so glad you are going to take Raini. You have suffered some very hard losses with your mom and Casey. It seems like both you and Raini will be wonderful for each other! Please post pictures soon! Sending Hugs your way and prayers! |
