HELP--yorkie hit her head! Concusion? i was in Petco and a little boy accidentally bumped a rack and two VERY hard rawhide knot bones fell directly onto my yorkies head!!!!!!!! I could have murdered the boy, he didn't even apologize, and his mother was standing right there! She let out about 3 loud screams, screams so loud i had every person in the store looking in my direction. I swooped her up and loved her up, examined her head....and now, 24 hours later, no bruising, no bumps, great vision and ears. HOWEVER, i left Petco immediately in case i needed to go to the emergency vet. At home, she began vomitting. She continued vommiting all night. The first time she vommited, (she's 5 months old), she began to eat it, and naturally i tried pushing her away to clean it up. She growled at me, and snapped at me, to bite me!! she's never done this before, and i've even worked on it since i got her by taking her food away and giving it back while she ate at her dish. Never has she ever shown signs of aggression. I thought she had forgotten about the Petco incident, but a friend came over that night and my yorkie hid from her! Is this serious? Am i over-reacting??? Does she have a concusion??? Please help!! |

I would worry more about the vomitting than the snapping. She doesn't feel good. Think about how you feel when you are sick. I'd go right to the vet. Good luck! |

Poor baby !!! I don't think you're over-reacting at all - vomiting is not good - is she sleeping more than usual ? If it were me - I would call my vet asap just to tell them about what happened and see what they say and GOOD LUCK !!! |

Bring her to the vet! Vomiting is the sign of a concussion. Don't wait! |

I agree, better safe than sorry, go to the vet! Poor little baby, I would have been so scared! Keep us updated |

I agree take her immediately to the vet. Vomiting in humans after a head injury is a sign of concusion not sure about dogs. I wouldn't take any chances. Please keep us posted |

I'd take her to the vet also. Is she sleeping more? I'd call Petco and remind them of the incident and tell them how she is behaving and that you have to take her to the vet. Let them know in a polite way that you expect them to pay the vet bill and will be bringing it by shortly and will let them know what the results are. |

Petco I;m not sure Petco is to blame, but the bratty kid and his muther sound pretty culpable. |

I know they are not to blame, but they are responbile for such happenings I believe. |

I'll ask my husband (he's a lawyer) but I think that you can't hold the store responsible. |

I would take her to the vet also |

I always put mine in the cart where I can guard her with my life! LOL |
