Brushing baby's teeth. So I found out brushing teeth for your furbaby is VERY important except...it's so hard to brush lexi's teeth. Any tips or advice? |
Ha ha! I would love tips too. My two think I have lost my marbles when I am trying to do this and it becomes quite a dance! This and nail trimming is going to be the death of me... I am such a scaredy cat to trim their nails... I file and file and file and...lord help me...file some more. LOL But I am afraid of groomers. I have also made special appt with vet to get their nails done. and then I am back to filing. :( Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: |
I've been trying to get Tallulah used to having her teeth brushed, too. Somewhere I read that you should start with putting the toothpaste (made for dogs, NOT humans) on your finger and let the dog lick it off. So far, so good. T loves the taste of the toothpaste. Then you're supposed to use your finger to gently rub the teeth. Like she's going to let me do that to her. Tonight I'm going to get out the toothbrush and see if she will chew on it. Heck, she chews on everything else in the house. Maybe if she thinks it's a game, I can get in a few good brushes. Someone mentioned on another thread a few days ago that her dog uses an electric toothbrush. I'd like to hear how she accomplished that! |
Does anyone use one of the dental products that can be mixed with the dog's drinking water to help keep their teeth healthy? Do you still need to brush if you use the additive? Is it safe for puppies? |
