Proud of my wild man 1 Attachment(s) I just wanted to take a minute and brag on my little wild man Levi. He was an owner-surrendered rescue, and when I got him, he was a wild ball of energy. It's taken awhile, but I feel like we have made huge strides (even though he is still one active and curious boy)! He has learned basic commands, he is much more reliably potty-trained, and just his basic manners have improved greatly. For example, we were at Petsmart last night for a nail trim, and after the trim, we were just wandering up and down a few aisles. A large, overly excited German Shepherd mix and his pretty clueless owners walked by and I could tell they were the kind of people who looked down on small dogs as "not real dogs." However, as their dog pulled and cried and barked and yanked to get close to us, Levi sat very patiently by my feet. I never thought I would see this from the dog that naturally wants to run and greet everyone and everything!! It wasn't out of fear (he was very curious and excited to meet this dog), he has just (finally!) learned to wait. So I picked him up and let the two dogs meet. :) Sorry this has turned into such a novel, but I am so proud of Levi. And just for fun, I've attached a new picture of my sweet little man. |
You should be proud - that's quite an accomplishment. Congrats! |
Awww! That is AWESOME! Isn't it such an amazing feeling when they act like that, and make you totally proud? lol. Go Levi! |
Don't apologize. It is wonderful to read success stories. He sounds wonderful and I'm positive he is much happier with you, too! He looks very happy in his picture, too. Not to mention cute.:p You have every reason in the world to be proud of your little man, Levi. |
Thanks! It is an awesome feeling. When he just sat down and waited for my direction in the pet store, I looked down at him and wondered, "Who are you and what have you done with my crazy dog?" He's such a great little guy and I feel like he is just learning so much! |
What a nice story! All of the attention, consistency and love that you have put into Levi is coming back to you. :) Good for you and good for Levi! (He's a very handsome boy by the way.) |
Don't apologize, I love to read posts about Yorkie owners who are proud! Shucks, I post them too. Congrats on the wonderful accomplishment. |
His progress has been pretty amazing. All this from a dog whose first owners surrendered him because he was "hyper and untrainable." |

It sounds like he's doing great, though. Keep up the good work, Levi! :) |
Good boy Levi!! Go ahead and brag all you want - you have the right :). Don't you just love when you get that warm, fuzzy-all over proud feeling?! Congratualations on your little genteman! |
Woohoo! This is GREAT! Levi should be the one who was looking down his nose at that crazy wild untrained animal. Way to show them who rules! :D And oh my goodness, he is such a cutie!!!! Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: |
Your Levi looks alot like my Pixie. Red head, red paws and the body is silvery. Your little man is growing up. You should be proud of him and how well behavior he was at Pet Smart. |
Good job, Levi!!! Sometimes little guys need to show the big guys how it's done. |
You should brag!! He is a very handsome and well behaved young man!! |
