Some reasons why I will not let my dogs go outside alone: Hawks Owls Turkey buzzards Opossums Fox Other people's dogs (even if you fenced your yard -- some jump high!) Fire Ants Cow Killer Ants Bees, wasps, hornets Slugs (just learned about them carrying lung worms to dogs) Copperhead snakes Rattle snakes (regular and pygmy) Cottonmouth water moccasin Coral snake Mushrooms Getting stuck in chain link fence Swimming Pool Theft!!!! Horrible people that abuse animals Getting caught in bad weather Overheating Getting caught in the blackberry thorny vines Falling into a new frog/snake/mole hole Not to mention all of the untold things they might eat or drink that could make them sick or choke them and you not know it. They are so little and they deserve someone to watch over them! |

I always go out with my girls especially because of the first two, but some of these I have never thought of before. |
There is also a rare disease that can be contracted from bird, squirel and bat droppings, all found in your backyard. The danger is to dogs under the age of 4. Histoplasmosis. More readily contracted in souther states. Manolo's Mom/Lola was diagnosed in February and will be on drugs for a long time. |
They do not like to be out alone, I have four of them, and at nite, I have to go out with them, and they keep looking to see if I am still their. They are to small to let out alone, They are very close nitted to their owners, and always wants them their. |
I would never let my dog out at night by herself. I've heard too many horror stories. I let my Basset Hounds out before I go to bed but I stand there and watch them. They are large dogs and still I watch them. I wouldn't even think of letting a small dog out at night by themselves. |
