Gives him hugs and cuddles from us... hoping he feels better soon... in our prayers... |
Just like everyone else said, accidents happen, I know it hurts you as much as it does the puppy, the last thing any of us want to do is hurt them! It sometimes happens with Darcy, she moves slow because she is older, she gets in front or behind me, and I don't realize it. She doesn't sleep with us at night, as she prefers her own space, and so DH and I have to turn the lamps on the night stand or shine our iphones at the floor before we get up, because sometimes she sleeps right where our feet will land , instead of sleeping on her bed, or her folded up lambie blanket. Like the posters said, let the puppy rest and don't allow running or jumping. Darcy pulled a muscle in her front leg earlier this summer and we had to make sure she did not jump on the sofa, and if she was up there we taught her WAIT, so she would stop and wait to be lifted down. I think it took 2 weeks for her to heal and walk normally. |

I hope Bailey heals quickly. He probably is a bit scared because he doesn't understand why he feels the way he does with the medication and a bruised foot. Bailey knows how much you love him, and you are a great mom to him. |
Thank you for all the posts.. He seems alright. He's in his bed, chewing on some chewy keys. He's starting to doze off a bit. I guess this is a good time to leave for some quick groceries.. Should I set up an appointment with his regular vet? The er vet sent info about last night there.. |

Believe me! You are not alone in the "I stepped on my yorkie club". It can happen so easily. I hope in a week or so, he'll be ok. |
As everybody else said, don't beat yourself up over it. Accidents happen. I am always tripping or stepping on our dogs because they get underfoot. You have to walk around with your eyes glued to the floor. My mom fell over our beagle awhile back and broke her arm. The dog screamed so loud I thought she was hurt but it was my mom who suffered. |
Awww, poor baby:cry: I hope that all is well in no time! You're NOT a cr@ppy Momma, I promise! Accidents do happen, it just teaches us to be even more careful than we already are;) You got him the care he needed, that makes you a GREAT Mom ! |
thank you for all the posts. Each one really settled and calmed my heart. I'm sure Bailey would appreciate each one if he knew how to read.. Lol Just to update.. Bailey's leg makes contact with the floor! It's as if he wasn't hurt at all. He's back to his bouncy self.. :) he's still limited to the xpen, just in case.. He's definitely hating it because he takes it out on the poor pee pads. 5 pee pads have been reduced to shreds! :-O |
Dont beat yourself up about it, accidents happen. You took him to the vet, so you did the best thing you could! Good wishes for a speedy recovery! |
