With Sadness Comes Joy

I have waited a long time to post this. We lost our little Phoebe in a terrible accident. One minute she was happy and playing and a second later she was gone. I really don't want to go into details, but she broke her neck. Everything lined up perfectfly for this accident. I keep thinking... if only I did this or if this didn't happen, she would still be here. I wasn't home when this happened. Hubby was, and sometimes i feel angry at him. I say to myself "how did he let this happen?" It wasn't his fault... I miss my little shadow and protector. Not a day goes by that I don't cry. My little man Zeus was very depressed the first couple of weeks, and even started to take on some of her traits. He has become my protector.

Some time has passed, and we decided that it was time to bring home another girl. I missed having a little girl around. I want to introduce Zena, Zeus's little sister. She has brought so much joy already, and I love her very much.

The first picture is of Phoebe. This is how I remember her, smiling and happy. The second picture is Zena, happy to be home.

We miss you Phoebe!!

I am so so sorry. Oh my goodness. I have goosebumps and tears. Accidents happen, but nothing makes it easier. Wounds take time to heal, and occassionally rip open and feel like a fresh new wound.

On a lighter note, you new baby is BEAUTIFUL!! :D

I am so sorry for your loss, how devastating. Phoebe was just adorable. It's so difficult and complicated when you lose a pet - the feelings/emotions are overwhelming and confusing. I hope you continue to heal, over time.

Congratulations on your new baby! I bet she warms your heart with all of her puppy silliness. She is a beauty! :)

I am so sorry about Phoebe.:animal-pa And at the same time happy you have another little girl. Obviously she will never take Phoebe's place but she can help fill the void left by Phoebe.
Phoebe is happy playing at Rainbows Bridge now with all the other little ones that are there.
Love the pics, Phoebe was adorable and so is Zena:)

I'm sorry about the accident. All of the mixed emotions - it's like a roller coast. I think she was quite precious and will always live in your memory.

Your new little girl is adorable and I'm sure will keep Zeus very happy and not feeling lonely anymore - the same goes for you.:)

Thank you. Zena is a wild child.

I have just recently started to go through pictures and videos of Phoebe. I just try to remember the happy times.

Yes just remember the good times. Phoebe will always be in your heart but hopefully Zena can help fill the void. You will have many more years to come with Zena.

Silliness is right. She warms my heart more when she is sleeping. I love watching her sleep. She makes the cutest little noises.

I'm so sorry about your little Phoebe. I completely understand your feelings about her loss, and I hope you will be able to forgive yourself and your husband some day. As you said, it was an accident.

Your little Zena is adorable and I hope she will be able to help heal your broken heart. Nothing can take the place of a lost pet, but we're so lucky our hearts have room for more pets to love.

I just want to say I am sorry for your looss of Phoebe. I am sitting here with tears running down my face as I type this even though I do not know you. I can pretend I don't know why this affected me like this.. but I DO know WHY.. Reading your post brought back the memory of losing my beloved Sunnie a little over a year ago. We were travelling in the Rv on a 3 wk long vacation with 5 yorkies and it happened so suddenly as well. He had a reaction to flea medication and he was gone in just a few hours. I know that your new adorable baby will help you cope with the loss, but you will always remember Phoebe. Even though I try to remember all of the happy memories... once in a while one will creep in like this and I will cry like a baby for my Sunnie. RIP sweet Phoebe.

I pray that little Zena (she's so CUTE!) will help you smile and laugh again. She certainly looks like she has enough personality to do that. :)

To forgive and move on enables you to enjoy what you have now.

The happy times, moments you spent with with phoebe will lighten up your heart. The if's ands buts should be left behind.

Now you can enjoy the new baby girl. I wish many days of happiness and new memories to make together.

It is such a difficult time when you lose a pet suddenly...my heart goes out to you on your loss of your Phoebe. Zena will never replace her, but she will make her own space in your heart. As we all know, we get so much back from our yorkies. I am sure she will help you in her own way. Hugs and kisses to you all! :animal-pa

So sorry for your loss of little Phoebe. That is heartbreaking news. She was a darling, beautiful girl. :rose: I am happy you now have little Zena in your heart, as well. She is precious.
