Hey! We've been lurking on YT for a little while, and I decided that I should join and say hi!

I got Chewbacca about 2 and a half months ago (he's about 5 and a half months now), and it's been great fun since then! Since Chewbacca's such a big name for the little guy, he goes by Chewie, or Bug, or Turkeybutt, depending on what he's up to at the current moment!

Chewie loves his Skinneez squirrel, catching grasshoppers, and all people and dogs--he's not shy at all, and he's made friends all over town!

We live in small-town South Dakota, and winter's upon us, so we'd appreciate any suggestions for how to burn off energy in sub-zero and white-out conditions :p

2nd pic is Chewie up close and personal, 1st is Chewie with his "cousin" Murphy, a 70-pound boxer (my sister's dog). Needless to say, Chewie and Murphy have VERY supervised playtime!

Chewie is a cutie! I've always thought Yorkies look a lot like ewoks, myself.

That second picture of chewbaccas face it one of the cutest pictures i have EVER seen!!!!! He sooo cute!!!! I would be putting that as my avator if i was you because i dont think i would ever get sick of looking at the cute face! Congratulations on joining YT :D xxx

Welcome, Kristal, and to your special little friend, Chewie. He's terribly cute! We still go out when it is in the 20's for short walks. Get him some Pawz dog boots and some 4-legged jogging suits and put a warm coat over that and he'll show you how much he loves being out. They like to play in the snow. If you stay in, a good game of ball will give him plenty of exercise and wear him down. He surely likes to play fetch!:) They also have snow suits if he is planning on be outside in the cold.

Welcome to YT! Your baby is precious! Don't have any snow weather advice for you---it hardly ever snows here in GA. Enjoy your baby.

my heart just melted for chewie (which i prefer the name Turkeybutt, how cute!) He is adorable, and sounds like a fun little handful.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! It's been kind of a "Turkeybutt" day--instead of playing with his toys, he found and shredded a newspaper, I caught him marking a chair (almost time for a neuter!), and now he's stalking a fly. Crazy pup.

Karen, thanks for the cold weather tips. Chewie LOVES to chase, but the whole retrieving part of fetch is definitely a work in progress.

We're leaving on Wednesday for a week-long roadtrip to Oregon and back with my folks and sister. I hope the major upset in routine doesn't set back his potty-training too much!

Oh, yes, I was going to suggest bully sticks to keep him from chewing good items. Just google bully sticks if you aren't familiar with them. They are great for teething pups.

Hello and welcome to YT and I'm so glad you found us! I'm in North Dakota. Chewy is so adorable and he sounds like quite the little character! I hope you have a safe and fun trip and hopefully it won't set him back on his potty training.

Burning off energy in the winter... This works for us and someone posted this idea on YT a couple of years ago. Anyway, I throw a small treat or a greenbean down the steps. Piccolo runs down and gets it and runs back. It does not take her long to get winded and she loves this game. :)

Hi and welcome, Chewie is just perfect. The past few days it's raining and I'm not able to get my pupps for a walk. I found a game that works. I throw them their kibbles (two at a time) and they run to catch them and eat them. The hunter instinct is powerful. They just love it. It takes about half an hour and after that they are both fed and so tired that they both go to sleep.
