Funny little thing Poppy has just started having dry kibble. She runs to her bowl leans forward and stretches as far as she can sometimes so that her back legs lift off the floor. Then she steals a little bit of kibble and runs off onto the carpet to eat it haha! Makes me laugh..... does your yorkie do this? Also what time does everyone feed their yorkie? Poppy gets fed at 8pm after we get in from work and have had our tea. I was told to feed Poppy after we eat as then she will know whos the pack leader. What time is the best time to feed a yorkie? xxxx |
Sugar eats at 7am and 7pm.......unless she tells me off and demands I feed her at noon too ;):D |
I feed breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a night time snack with treats. Of course, we walk a lot and I mean miles.:D |
Aw thank you. Do your yorkies grab kibble and run off to eat it? Poppy normally has kibble left over in the morning which i leave for her to eat and when i get home from work thats all gone and she gets another bowl at 8pm. we have just started walking. Is it REALLY important to keep a routine going with these little ones? Sometimes when i am working hard and me and OH are in the ouse at different times our routine gets mixed up i am trying to keep her to one tho, will it affect her if i dont stick to it? xxxx |
I am now home cooking for Sugar but when I left kibble out for her she would eat it piece by piece on my floor  Now she scrambles to eat it all up (mostly....) and begs for more :D Routine is important but if you are off by an hour....your yorkie may be p*ssed but not starved to death (no matter what she claims :rolleyes:;)) |

Home cooking, oh my sugar is spoilt haha! ;). Yes sometimes Poppy acts like she has not been feed for weeks LOL:rolleyes: She gets lots of treats throughout the night to chew and play with. She will leave half her bowl of food and will pick at it thought the night too and still have some left in the morning. but even when she has food in her bowl she will jump around crazy for more food lol. She does like her food BTW its the only thing she will eat... she is so fussy! xxx |
Lily does. She'll take some kibble and throw in on the floor. Then she'll take a piece of kibble and throw it in the air, or bat it around on the floor, pounce at it then eat it. Its so funny. |
Bailey likes to play with his food, not so much now that I have Jesse, I think he is afraid Jesse will grab it, but he still does it on occasion, so cute :) |
Mine are free feeders, but I usually put it down at 4:30 am (hubby gets up for work so we all get up) and then again at 5 pm. Ally is very picky and will pick all day. I watch to make sure she gets enough. Tia is a pig and usually eats all of her breakfast at around 8 or 9 am and waits until 5 pm for dinner. Tia is our funny girl. She will grab a kibble and run around the house playing with it like a cat. She throws it up like a ball, bats it around with her paw, and runs and gets it and starts all over again. I used to find kibble all over the house when I vacuumed, but she's such a pig...she usually finds all that she throws in the air now. It's fun to watch her! |
Aw! That sounds so cute! My Biewer will take bites and run into the living room to eat, then runs back into the kitchen for more. When she gets tired of that, she picks up the whole bowl and carries that into the living room. When everybody else is done, she takes their bowls into the living room too! Now if I could only teach her to bring them all back into the kitchen! Peek a Boo, if he's in the wrong bowl and I say something to him, he opens his mouth so wide and takes the biggest bite of food possible, then runs off into the living room where he spits it out and then eats it in more reasonable amounts! My Sapphire is a junky! She loves to take medicine! She will try to steal medicine from my other dogs as I give it to them. This actually works for me bc then the dog getting the medicine thinks it's something good and rather than let her have it they rush to get it down! Mine eat (are offered) food twice daily with some kibble left down for snacks and appetizers! |

Mine get a little homecooked food for breakfast at 8 and at 6 for dinner. And the bowl of dry left out all day. I think that is why my Roxy is only 7 months and almost six pounds she just loves to eat. :D |
