Not So Fun At Doggie Park!
 
So today in the morning I took Ruby to the doggie park and it was only me and her there so i thought terrific. We both had a lot of fun. So I thought I would give it a second try in the afternoon with all the other dogs since the first time it didn't go to well because all the big dogs were bulling her. I let her loose and all the dogs were sniffing her and following her. By the time we finished they had her full of slobber and i wasn't to happy. I don't think we will be going back there again. Needless to say that as soon I bathed her beause I have her in a full coat so you can imagine how she looked. :(

The poor little thing got soaked . poor thing. I always pick mine up when other dogs come around.

Aww poor thing. I took Gucci to a doggie park where bigger dogs where playing and i didnt like it either. Gucci was terrified. But then again she is just scared of any dog of any size. :(

But they have fun. Isn't that what matters? Coco gets licked and slobbered on by the other little guys at the park, but she has fun so I'm ok with it. Let little Ruby have fun, she's just getting lots of lovin'...hehe :D

Yes, That what I intended, but I think she her self isn't sure she seems like she likes it but she won't really run and every time a dog approaches her she surrenders and just gets upside down showing her belly. That all she was able to do. She did this all the time while we were there. Also this bulldog was following her and she took harbor under the chair of another dog owner and even then she had that thing bothering her. I think she enjoys it more when were are alone in the park by ourselves. :thumbup:

I wouldn't feel that my doggie was safe with a bunch of strange dogs that were bigger. I would've taken off myself. All it takes is one little accident and your little doggie is history.

I am not so sure...but then againMaximus LOVES them big doggies...lol, he just likes to play with EVERYONE so I can say without a doubt he enjoys himself...but I have also seen some dogs that don't seem to enjoy it that much either ..so I don't know!!

I like to take Princess, but we can both due without all that slobber!!
The big dogs heads are the size of Princess.
One lick and she's all wet! YUCK!!! :eek:

I think she's just being timid, being that it's her first time. Coco was very much like that. She was shaking, belly up, and taking cover. By the next couple of times, she was a completely different pup. Now, COCO is the boss of that little dog park. She loves it there. I would rather her be socialized and have fun and be a little slobbered up, then not be socialized at all. It's a park afterall, and no one expects to come back clean after that. :p

Now that I agree with....my vet always stresses the imprtance of having them around other dogs...it is vital for them to learnhow to interact and after ahile they will learn to stand up for themselves...lol!! Maximus got humped a couple of months ago for about an HR...lol, until he finally had enough bared his teeth at the other dog and the other dog got the hint...lol
