info about regestering puppies??? I bred my girl for the very first time today. The sire we chose is cute and we were told he is registered...and he is. But mine is AKC and he is with another club. Is there going to be a problem registering the litter?? |
AKC won't register a litter unless both the dam and sire are AKC registered. |
frankly yes... I do not know what registry the stud is registered with, but if it is not AKC you will not be able to register the puppies as AKC. this actually should have been investigated and understood before you bred your girl. of course the most important thing is that you surely had both your girl and the stud tested for both genetic conditions and STD's. "cute" really is or should not be the important thing to base breedability on |

If The Other Dog Is With CKC yOu Can Have Your Dog AKC/CKC Reg. I Think You Should Have Found This Out Before You Had Her Bred. |
This was a first time for both of the dogs and they have both just been to the same vet to be checked out and got the okay to go ahead. I DID ask if he was registered when we first found each other. What I didn't ask was "Is he AKC registered". I have seen pups for sale on other websites with the listing of AKC/CKC. I'm guessing the pups will have no papers?:( |

I would double check with the CKC though, if I remember correctly (and I probably don't) I think they had a rule against doing a registration during the whelping period. |
If This Dog Is Reg With CKC? If So Only Thing You Have To Do Is Take three Photo Of Your Dog And You Can Have Your Female Reg With CKC. |
I honestly didn't know there was another organization. I had Yorkies 25 years ago and there was no others then that I'm aware of. Had I known, today would not have happened. |

Can my dog hold two registrations?? AKC and CKC? Its as easy as three photos? I have not heard of CKC until today. |
You folks are really great with all the info. Thanks so much for your help.:aimeeyork |
CKC is not very strict with the registration process. Basically, you just send in a couple of pictures and *presto* your dog is certified as a pure breed. In other words, it's not worth much. 1.Dogs which are currently registered with another recognized kennel club may be registered by completing the CKC Canine Registration Application, making a copy of the other kennel club’s Registration papers, and sending them to Continental Kennel Club’s Registration office with the proper Registration fee, or 2.Dogs over 6 months of age which have no previous Registration history may be registered by providing 2 witness signatures attesting to the purebred status of the dog along with 3 photos (front, left and right) of the dog to confirm it is ‘of proper breed type’ as defined by our current CKC Registration Rules and Regulations.Canine Registration Applications are available in PDF format from our web site. |
I guess I will ahve to register her with CKC in order to get papers for the pups. He is of the Yorkmont line and I assumed he was AKC. Live and learn I guess. He sure is cute though and will make pretty little pups |

:thumbs_do:thumbs_do:thumbs_do:thumbs_do:thumbs_do :thumbs_do:thumbs_do This thread makes me want to cry. Is the concern b/c of lack of registration due to it eating away an anticipated profit. :cry8: Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: |
It is sad. |
