Zoe The Drama Queen I don't know what it is lately with Zoe our 11 month old Shorkie. All of a sudden she started whinning and crying all day. She wants to be held all the time. She was never like this before. She was checked out by the vet and nothing seems to be wrong. What's worse is now she's got our 6 month old Yorkie Zach doing the same thing. He was also checked out and found with a clean bill of health. They're both playful and their behavior is normal except for this change of personalities. Anybody have any thoughts? |
I have absolutely no idea! Is there anyone that was previously in the household that has moved out or gone to college? I would generally think they were missing someone or wanted to go outside for a walk or play. Those are my thoughts. I would just try to think of anything that has changed in her life lately that it might be linked to. Maybe she's afraid you're going to leave?????? |
Wow! That would drive me crazy. I would try to wear them out!!! I can not imagine have one but now two doing this! I agree, I think she is missing something so perhaps if you redirect their attention until they are exhausted it will subside??? Good luck!!! Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: |
Maybe it is just a stage they are going through. Mine seems to require more attention the older he gets. He is two. |
My Claire did this all the time. She would make an awful high pitched ieeeee sound and then she'd whine and cry. She did this when she wanted to get picked up and when my husband came home from work and when she was on the other side of the baby gate or when she wanted up on the couch to sit next to me or when I left the room. She still gets upset, but I have been working with her for months now and she is getting better. What I have been doing is telling her sit quite and I pick up her up when she sit still and is quite for a minute and she learning now. She shakes she's so excited but when she cries i turn my back on her so she knows now that that she has to be good girl to get what she wants. |
Well I try not to pick her up but my room mate spoils her. When I'm home alone with the two of them, they play quietly for hours, but as soon as they see her, the whinning and the crying starts. I told her not to pick them up, but she says she can't stand them crying it breaks her heart. She even spoils my two Basset Hounds. They think she's a softie and can get away with anything, they know when they see me that they can't get away with anything even with their sad faces. |
Have they recently been fixed? My Dexter started this after he was fixed and never outgrew it. He is clingy, whiney and wants to be held 24/7. |
