removing scent from carpets What does everyone use to clean “accidents” from their carpet. Bridget must have had a few that I didn’t catch when she was a puppy, and now it’s confusing to Greta. She is doing really well – she is going in the right room – but she is smelling something that I’m not. I’m having my carpets cleaned professionally – but I’m sure that alone won’t remove the scent. Is there anything I can buy or make to spray on my carpets that will get rid of the scent that the girls smell? Thanks in advance for any suggestions! |
the breeder that I got Fiona from, used hydrogen perioxide on everything! and it worked! |
Try spraying vinegar. We replaced all our carpet with tile, then hardwood floors. I find spraying vinegar helps with the floors now. |
Nature's Miracle... it actually has enzymes in it to break down the protein in their urine. Works WONDERS. I swear by it! I bought a gallon of it and I fill up a small spray bottle that I use when needed. |

urine stains We use a diluted solution of OXY CLEAN. Then hit it with some Febreze. |

That is a great idea! |
I use Natures Miracle too. |
I use Lysol wipes (the scrubby ones) seems to work. |
We use Odor Off. It is advertised to work with the sodium in your dog's urine stains, and that is what brings the smell back even after treating the stain. When it becomes humid in your house, it causes the smell to come back. |
